    Hey Mormans.

Is it true that Joseph Smith read the golden plates out of a hat?

Do any mormans still actually believe that story?

The whole: Jesus was from America and indians were from Jerusilam and all that??

I watched South park last week and it was making fun of the whole morman thing how they believed a guy named Joseph Smith when he said he found golden plates in the forest and two stones to translate the plates. The plates were a new testimant from Jesus the way it was meant to be.
No one ever saw the plates but they believed him.
He also read the translations out of a hat.
Then when he had to translate the same story twice, he couldnt. He said he had to translate from the other plate. So now the story would be different but still the same.
Go figure. Charsimatic people can convince an entire population into anything.
Im sure the south park version was a little off but still funny as all hell.

South Park..If you saw it there, it is all true. The two writers of that cartoon portray everything with unquestionable inegrity and seriousness.

I'm not Mormon. But i can tell you that Joseph Smith didn't read them out of a hat. I am a christian. My wife was Mormon b4 we were married. And my best friend is Mormon, his dad was a bishop in the church. He loves South Park, but I think he took that one close to the heart. He told me that they did do there research but a lot of it was twisted.

Religion blows, it's a bit ironic however that I went on a date with an ex-mormon girl on Saturday night though. I myself being an ex-christian, she and I had a lot to talk about in the way of angst towards organized religion.

Yep, same thing here. I regard my church years as part of my wasted youth.
And talk about wasted days -- I used to play the **** accordian in front of department stores begging for $$ for the **** church . . . Geez, I think back on all those days I coulda been out doing ANYTHING else . . . whatta waste . . .

Man, I hurt for ya bro! Thats pretty... well... sad.

I'm an agnostic leaning a lot towards atheism myself. In my mind, religion is a crutch for those who feel they need to believe in more than just themselves. Nothing wrong there I guess, but it is hard for me to understand the motivation behind believers and people who do stuff like you said up there for their religion.

I guess we all live and learn...

Thats fine. Being Christian just means you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and living Savior.

NO. From what Jesus did roughly 2003 years ago. Everyone is saved that wants to be.

Yeah but every person teaches the Bible differently. So whoever READS the Bible needs to get from it what THEY believe Not what someone tells them to believe.

Faith is gift from God, not something you can do or not do. "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith" We didn't do anything...

That's the problem with Christianity... In the long run, everyone turns out to be their own god...
