    Just watched Blazing Saddles...

    Man that must be the most UN politically correct movie ever, fcuking hilarious. I actually had tears streaming down my face looking at it.

    O, happy new yr. Its 2004 here, I'm a few hours ahead of you guys...

    No way anyone could make a movie like that one today. Remember going to the movies with my brothers when that one came out..................if I'm not mistaken we each lost a lung laughing our asses off.

    It's a classic...

    As for "getting away with it", very few directors could have EVER gotten away with it, then or now... but Mel Brooks MAKES it work and it's not tasteless.

    I absolutely love Mel Brooks movies...

    I would say thats one of my all time favorites. History of The World Part 1 was good too. Not quit as good but good.

    pretty much all mel brooks' good movies were kind of on the edge. most got good reviews. funny, The Producers originally didnt and people boycotted it and such. 20 years later the stage production wins all kinds of awards. strange
