does anybody know the nutritional value of the skin on a baked potato. Would it be a good idea to eat the skin or throw it away. Thanx![]()

The skin is probably included in the nutritional value of the potato on the lable. However, I would suggest that either you peel/remove the skin or make sure you scrub the skin clean before eating, as there may be pesticides and/or fertilizers still on the skin.
The skin on some fruits and veggies holds almost all of the fiber content in the food. Not too sure about potatoes though.Originally Posted by Testsubject
YES the skin has fiber. If you're going to eat a potato, definitely eat the skin.
in fitday.com they there is the nutrition value for both with skin and without skin so u can know what r the nutritional value of the skin alone
Right on thanx guys............and girl.
the skin in a lot of fruits/veggies is where the fiber is, along with some of the vitamins/minerals...so Kim's right on...eat the skin!Originally Posted by Kim2884
