Gray's anatomy is online for all that are interested.

Here's for the posterior leg....for the glute guys out there...

There are much smaller nerves that branch off of those pictured as well. I'll try to find a good image.
Actually, this one is really good:

This is about 1/3 of the way down the thigh and will show most of the major nerves the best, being at their thickest points in the leg.

    Happy poking.

That last link is awesome! You can see exactly what you are sticking. It puts me at ease knowing there is nothing really important where I am jabbing that needle.

To be honest, the delts are great in terms of not having a great deal of nerves near the surface....very safe spot to hit with a 1" or 5/8" pin. Their only limitations are: A) amount of volume that can be injected and B) the fact that you must go at it one-handed.

These were the best images I could find.
Here's a tip....for the best place to inject your delts, stand straight in front of a mirror (facing it). Look for the point at which your delt protrudes/bulges out the furthest from your centerline. Use that point as your target.....a little further back or a little higher up is good too, if you want to have more range so as to limit the formation of scar tissue.

Good find. That site has a lot of good info.
However, I disagree with that site suggesting you should use a 1.5" pin for glutes and thighs. If you ever need a 1.5" to do any body part, you're due for a long cutting cycle
