A lot of software programmers can work from home, at least most of the time.....right now it might be hard to get that kind of job though.

have no idea, my cousin started one, he sits home all day and hired some other people, all you do is type all day. i think he found out about it over the net. go to google and try doing multiple searches on medical transcriptionists or transcriptionists home job etc. etc. good luck

If anything were as easy as mentioned above we all would be doing it.
Transcriptioning is the best option mentioned but only if she has some sort of medical background in terms of lingo

my cousin has no background whatsoever, they send him the rough drafts and all he does is re-type and transcribe. sometimes they send him audio files that he has to transfer into file, its a draining job though, all day infront of the computer!

Im def no expert on the subject.. I just know that when my wife stayed home with our kids for the 1st year... She did the same thing and I remember her saying in the begininng that if she didnt already have some sort of background in the medical field that she would of totally been discouraged to pursue it.

About 10 years ago, I was checking out the various claims made by Wicca and New Age stuff (long story) and a couple months after making an inquiry to some school of witchcraft in Salem, Mass, they sent me a job offer in the mail as a phone psychic.
The deal was, they'd do the marketing and advertising, then whenever I wanted to 'advise clients' all I'd have to do was call their phone computer and punch in a code. Then they'd start forwarding calls to their 1-800 number to my phone. All I had to do was profess some sort of facility with some sort of psychic something--crystal balls, runes, tea leaves, tarot cards, sheep entrails, anything at all. They would charge the customer upwards of $60/hr, they offered me $13.
If your wife thinks she might be psychic in the least (or just have good common sense and can fake some sort of psychic babble) and likes to talk to strangers on the phone, this might be an option. In fact, if your wife has lots of common sense, it would probably be lots better for the callers to talk to her instead of some card-reader.
She could offer to find loads for truckers (the independant owner/operator variety), and bill the customer, then pay the trucker 85% (or whatever the going rate is). This could turn into a 24/7 operation, though. Do it right, and there's a lot of $$$ in it.
There's always selling stuff on eBay. I've heard some folks do pretty good on it . . .
That's all that comes to mind . . .

nothing at all, just your basic language proficiency tests, typing tests etc. as long as you are fluent in language and you type like a mad man, your basically qualified. now about how to go about applying for these jobs, im totally oblivious all i know is my cuz found out about it thru net. good luck

If you want tips on how to start that sort of business, the truckers on the Usenet group misc.transport.trucking can provide plenty. Lemme warn ya, though, those guys can get pretty rude; they make this group look like a Sunday School picnic.

Honestly: EBAY or maybe real estate. Ebay might require some start up money around 1k but that quickly doubles. Real estate would not be a good idea come to think of it. Um, maybe she can help a company with sending out advertisements over the web or something. Anything web related is good if you have all day to sit and research products. Seems like she would have time for that.
Ask her what she likes to do and stay in that field.
