Network systems engineer, probably the most ironic job ever for a BB besides maybe a software designer lol. You should see my co-workers, all 6'+ 130lbs, then theres me at 5'10 220lbs No doubt I'm the only one out of all my co-workers that isn't a virgin, or even been within touching distance of a female.

I signed a lease on retail space last week, got some more paperwork and preparation stuff to deal with. But it's coming along. Probably will cost me about $60 grand in up-front expenses by the time the fat lady sings, and I'm hoping to open for business sometime in December.

It'll be a mix of old/new school . . . they want $1900 each for 6 refurbished matching antique barber chairs, brand new top-of-the-line made-in-the-USA chairs are $1800 each
    http://www.collinsmfgco.com/index.asp?page=999&p=424
Imported chairs are lots cheaper, but being the liberal patriot that I am, and wanting nothing but the best for my customers, I'm buying American.
Gotta have barber cabinets custom-made; that's about $2000 each. Gotta put in a new floor, that's about 5 or 6 grand. The outside sign is $3k. Gotta have plumbing installed, no idea what that'll cost, but it won't be cheap.
And there's more, but you get the picture.
But I guarantee, my shop is gonna be gawd-dangest best barber shop in Texas by the time everything is set up and running. Poker table in the back, shoe shine AND cleaning for running shoes up front. Free soda in the frige for paying customers, coffee in the morning. Book exchange in the waiting area for clients who read. Hot lather neck shaves with every haircut, I'll have one cosmetologist around who can wax caterpiller eyebrows into shape. XMSR set to channel 70. No tacky plastic anywhere (well, whatever can't be avoided, like in the electric clippers). Scrupulously observed sanitary procedures (so the last customer won't have the fingers that went through 20 other heads of hair spreading their bugs through his). A hot steaming towel for the final wiping of the face. But most of all, righteously excellent haircuts, 100% customer satisfaction (you like it or there's no cost). The shop specialty will be something like the "Double Layer" haircut, a cut that is guaranteed to get you laid twice in the next week, or else we'll make arrangements for you and this transsexual I know . . .
    Scalp shaves, face shaves, whatever.
I'm really looking forward to getting things under way. Not to spending $60K, but oh well . . .

Nothing "real". Never have and hope to weasel my way as far into life without ever having to. How I've been able to do so this far is a mystery not only to me, but my friends.

You just need to drive a little bit further South. There are like 6 or 7 colleges in the Macon area, one of which is an all girl school. So there is never a shortage on pretty young women on Saturday nights.
