When I ruptured both patellar tendons a few years back, I had to start over from square root 1 to get all my leg size back.
So, you're already ahead of where I was! (no injury)

doing high reps will work, even if you just keep them to the first 3 sets out of 5 or 6. i have noticed that 10 reps will not pump my legs, it requires at least 20 for a couple of sets.Right on. I need width on my legs, if that is a word for them....lol.

also, pre-exhausting like with the swole squats routine in the workout section will give you a pump so painful you cant flex your quads for fear of popping off your knee cap
