try useing Dex in ur pwo shak for a few weeks and keep the Brown rice in ur ppwo, as well, if you dont like the dex in ur pwo then switch to something eles
i used dex for a while last year (while cutting) and got good results. heard about using oats or another carb for a healthier choice so i tried it for a couple months. IMO, my results (which were maintaining LBM while cutting BF) with the dex were a bit better, so i have switched back. it is all individual really (i know...a cliche around here)...whatever you like better. but like steve0 said, try both and see.

The amount of dextrose is very critical as Swolecate indicates. I generally keep pretty lean. I only began using dextrose about 1 year ago. First I began getting better size, but then I started increasing body fat with no diet changes. I attribute this to an increase in the calories from the dextrose without a corresponding reduction in the amount of solid food. About a month ago I began cutting the dextrose back so that now I am doing something like 50-75g carb to 50mg protein post workout. For me, I seem to blow up at the smell of carbs, but by continuing to use it but in smaller than 2:1 ration my "cut" is coming back and my mass is unaffected.

I have had good success with 1/2 cup skim milk, 1 cup oats and 40g whey for a PWO shake. It should help you stay lean. Giantz recommended this to me and it really helps.
