thinking of getting a new car.

alright, i am thinking of selling my current mode of transportation, a '98 Dodge Dakota club cab with 86k miles for something smaller and more dependable. im not sure what i can get for my truck, but i would probably just put it on ebay for a quick sell. im guessing i can get anywhere from $2k to $4k, but im not sure. i probably only drive like 60 miles a week and parking is a bitch around here, so i want something kind of small. any ideas? also, i will probably be getting a new car when i graduate college in a year and a half, so i only need something to last me for a little while. thoughts?
