Smile A Bodybuilders Girlfriend here :)

Hey everyone. I'm not a bodybuilder like most people on here, but my boyfriend is and he has his first competition comming up in 10 weeks. My name is Marisa (I'm a girl, obviously) and I'm 19 years old and a sophmore in college. My boyfriend Anthony wants to start juicing around October which I'm highly against and he'll only be 20 by then. (I'm hopen he'll change his mind) I decided to come check out a few bodybuilding forums so I could learn some things about the sport he loves so much. If you would like to know anything else. feel free to ask

My initial thought it that your boyfriend is too young to juice. He probably has 5 more years of natural growing in him. What are is stats? (height, weight, BF%, etc.)

Those measurements sound impressive. He is doing so well without AAS. I agree with the others who are saying that twenty is too young. A twenty year old's natural test levels are high enough to get impressive gains without the steroids. It's only at twenty six does it start to decline. A better strategy is for him to make more natural gains before he starts with AAS and these gains will be solid gains and a good base. I understand how hard it can be to wait but in the long run he'll probably go further. He sounds driven to the point that he'll do what he determined to do despite any sound advice he gets. Good luck talking reason with this guy.

thank you yeah i think he has alot going for him w/o steroids. if he does good in this competition (which im sure he will) he wants to do nationals and he was saying that all those kids juice and its going to be hard for him to go into all natural and beat them. ( i disagree with that.. but thats how he feels ) yeah he had like a bulking up season or somethin before he starting cutting down.. i dont know what u wanna call it... he did his gains thing and hes going to go back to it after this competition. thanks for the advice

How does this guy feel about being the "skirt" in the relationship.
LOL.............i think it's cool though that you're taking such a vested interest in his life and his training.

Thank you I think I'm very caring.. I guess I get that from my mother. Lol I'm always like.. "baby be careful at the gym!" lol even tho hes a big boy and knows what hes doing. He has those cal-uses things on his hands from lifting and then some marks on his back that look painful.

It's good to see that you're both very trusting in your relationship. He for sharing his intent to use gear and yourself for being willing to explore the matter with an open mind.

Wish my girlfriend was like you, lol. She absolutely hates the idea of steroids, and even me getting any bigger. I guess its good she likes me the way I am, but I can't understand how girls get "turned off" muscularity.

lol i know he's going to do what he does nomater what.. but he won't do it behind my back. i wont ever tell him he cant do something such as.. he cant do steroids but ive asked him not to do them till hes atleast 26 and told him what it comes down to... is that its his life and ill love him nomater what.. but if he goes roid range on my a**, i wont put up with it. his best friend used to take them and mite be doing them again in the near future. his best friend is really smart when it comes to supplements and steroids. i know he can get them next week if he wanted. he wont do it behind my back. hes not like that. hes always very straight up with me. if he does them.. i know he will tell me before and when he does.. and all ill be able to do is pray to god that nuthin bad happens to him.

Thank you again and everyone else that responded with nice replies

I don't like the idea of the eigther.. they dont exactly get talked about to highly.. lol. Its good that ur g/f likes u the way u are As far as my boyfriend getting bigger.. I like him the way he is to. He's like my big teddy bear now.. if he gets bigger.. thats more for me to hold onto.. lol. I can understand how girls get turned off by it.. most of my friends think bodybuilders are to big.. i used to think it was to much to.. for some reasons.. all those veins.. arnt too appe****g to many girls i know.. I do think Ronnie and Cutler are a bit to big tho for me.. They are bodybuilding legends but If my boyfriend ever got THAT BIG .. with legs that huge.. I cant imagine having a good sex life But skinny guys can prob be broken in half by many girls.. lol I don't think I would have gone for my boyfriend if he was skinny.. as shallow as that sounds.. looks are the one of the first things most people see..

PRops to you both for making this an open discussion between you. Steroids don't just "get you big" - for men or women. You are still messing w/ the basic hormones that make up everythign that we are - how we look, how we feel, and especially our moods. You've heard of roid rage? It exists - depends on the person and their responsibility w/ use and also their awareness when some particular chemical does turn them into pricks. But also the post cycle therapy can make them cry like a little girl. And like all the above people said - 20 is pretty young to be juciing when he's got the full power of his natural test at full capacity at this age. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There are always more shows in the future if he wants to continue to mature his body, his presentation, his goals, etc. No need to dive in now.

Marisa - I love your attitude as well - I dont' think it does anyone any good to be afraid of things they only "hear things' about -esp when there is so much info on the web. One observation i've made since I've been online on muscle boards around 6 yrs now. The availability of info & access to steroids has increased so much over the last 6 yrs, but the level of intelligence as reflected in the types of questions you see on the same boards 6 yrs later indicates that people are just as ignorant as they always were, despite the availability of information but there are just more of these ignorant people shooting & popping steroids because they are more widely available. Its good that you are checkign into this as it does seem to be a potentially inevitable direction if your b/f continues in BB. But it sounds like he has a fantastic base to start w/ and would be really screwing himself if he upset his natural potential to start cycling before he's gained enough knowledge about AAS and time under his belt in both lifting/diet & competitoin.

My boyfriend uses gear as well. He was always up front and open about it with me, and we talk about everything. (90% of our convo's are about diet and training, lol). He's the type of guy who knows everything there is to know about something before using it. So I had no worries about him being careless with his body. Just make sure your guy knows what he's getting into and weighs out the risks vs. the benfits

As far as injections...he asked me to do it for him, and I just couldn't do it ,

20 is a bit young, but i ran my first and only cycle then with minimal knowledeg of what i was doin and i have no ill effects from it. unfortunetly its a waste of a cycle cuz i didnt PCT so i lost my gains. My nuts shrink a little, but they came back, no bithc tits, no aggression.

Lookin back i regret it, but it didnt kill me. Now im 24 and im stay natty till next october.

i think he should wait for the sake of his gains, but if he does do it, don't worry he is not gonna die or have a health crisis.

Well, ideally he should wait a few more years, but is starting juice at 20 going to **** him up or anything, realistically, no.

This is a great thread as it really expounds upon the underlying dilemma of how steroids will affect a relationship. I ran into this same problem with my wife before I started my first cycle. On the one hand, I'm a grown man, and I want to do what I want without scrutiny from others. On the other hand, my wife and I have made a commitment to each other that includes honesty and trust. So, I sat down with her and we discussed it (as it sounds like Anthony and Marissa did). She didn't like it at first either, but she respected my wishes for my body. Her only terms were that I properly educated myself before my first cycle. So I started studying and she studied with me. We both enjoyed everything that we have learned about steroids and about bodybuilding as a whole. Now, she's getting ready to start a clen cycle in a few weeks!

yeah u guys are married tho. we've been in a wonderful realtionship for just about a year i respect his wishes as ur wife does urs.. and she had some good terms i just hate the thought of them.. he'll be 20 when he starts. i can see when he's alot older because i know hes really serious about going pro someday.. i just keep thinking that hes so young tho and im so afraid somethin would happen to him.. it scares me so much.. i read around but at the same time.. in the back of my mind.. i dont find them nessasery for a few years.. i guess i mother him a lil which i shouldnt.. but i just care about him so much.. i know that im not gonna love him any less cuz of somethin like that.. but just the thought of him injecting something into himself that can harm him.. makes me sick to my stomach. ive kinda.. asked him not to do them.. ( i dont like opening my mouth when it comes to his bodybuilding stuff tho bcuz bodybuilding came before me and im not his mother) he told me he made up his mind and he is and he was gonna tell me what he is gonna do but i told him i didnt wanna hear it cuz the thought of it upsets me. ill be away at school too when he does it.. so i guess theres good and bad with that.. i so bad dont want him to do them for awhile sometimes i really hate bodybuilding but i know i have to respect it cuz he likes it.. but at the same time.. i think he should wait if he really loves me since it really upsets me..
