    Change of policies..
they're no longer acting like a service.. giving up cheap prices for modest profit.
they're going all out now, with BUSH in the white house.
They're going for FULL PROFIT.. taking SUPPY and DEMAND to the MAXIMUM.. profit maximation.

Basically if a democrat was in the white house or if they controlled the senate.. the gas companies would be afraid of probes, n fines.. or some ethical stuff used against them..

but with Cheney bush.. n all brances controlled by Oil Moguls.. they got the green light to really act Capitalistic. Treat OIL like its a luxury commodity.

Its not gauging cause we still have cheaper prices than most countries.. but its not what we're used to either.

I think its stupid how one day they'll have a report showing how gas prices are going up..
and than the next day they'll try n convince us we're not saving enough in our savings account..
LIKE WE GOT A CHOICE LOL!

O.P.E.C. controls the price of gas, not George Bush.
you and i control the demand. buy a bike, hybrid or some nikes.
in the long run we will find alternatives and the demand will be less.
oil will be back down to 40 bucks a barrell. (maybe less)

but in the mean time, grab your ankles!

Gas prices typically go higher during the summer months. Refineries usually decrease gasoline production during the summer and increase diesel production and vice versa during the winter. The additive in the gasoline has nothing really to do with the price. Most states are outlawing or have outlawed MTBE (a known carcinogen) and so refiners are replacing it with Ethanol.

OPEC controls the price of oil. The stations have a say in what they charge the public. There are basically three types of gas stations - Dealer Owned, Dealer Operated (DODO), Company Owned- Company Operated (COCO), Company Owned - Dealer Operated (CODO) - believe it or not most gas stations are becoming DODOs. (how fitting, right?) So like I said, the dealer has a good say in what to charge the public but it's all based on the price of oil.

To further explore this.. BUSH/CHENEY/OIL EXECS and his SAUDI friends are the major holders of the OIL COMMODITY.
When the barrell of OIL goes up they make millions.
O.P.E.C has been able to to increase the barrel of OIL cause the players finally lined up where no one had any opposition to doing so.
Clinton tried very hard, and placed a lot of pressure to keep BARREL OF OIL prices in 20$ range back in the late 90s.. that effort was not continued by BUSH.. for good reason too.. if we were in BUSH's shoes... we would have done the same thing he has done.

What about the war. I think it has to do alot with our economy being so screwed up. Now, who sent the our troops to go fight? Petroleum goes high, gas goes high everything else goes high except our wages.

it's our fault that we are so dependent.

I wasn't saying that's the only factor - the war is definitely a factor in all of this. I was just saying what is typical for the industry.

when we learn how to stop consuming oil at such a crazy rate, you are going to want to be in a different business.

The reason is that demand is more than offer!

But there are more barrells produced than demande still, they are underproducing.

    They blame

    - China: they want oil, but they are a third world revenu country and have a poor credit, so still get 25% of the market, the US, so doesnt work out\!

    - Nigeria: The conflict is cutting the flow of oil. BS! the conflict is there since years and years, and it never affected the price, actually in a recent past the price went down in need of dollars. Weird, why everyday I get proposition from Nigerian oil companies with surplus of barrels (proof to supply)

    - Iraq: The war in Iraq, Ok, only 35% going capability right now, but who control the production? The White House!!! God bless Bush and oily friends

    - Speculators: They dont exists!

    - Katrina: The Gulf of Mexico was providing how mcuh of global oil?

    - Iran: Gimme a break with Iran, the price should go down, and their oil market in euro should not even affect gas price.

    and to answer fuel:

If you buy stocks of major oil company you can expect a 30-35% turn out in 2 weeks on your shares....

Exxon did a 24% surplus last year (forbes)

    yes we are getting scammed
