Cannot send PM

Hi everyone,

I cannot send PMs, although I have been a member for several years, albeit a very quiet one, but still a member.

I need to contact somebody regarding a source check before I make a order, see.

i know wtf they told me 25 and i almost have 50 but i still cant send anything

Oh, OK. Now I understand perfectly how it is. You must have reached a specific number of posts before you are able to send PMs to somebody.

You need 25 posts, you also need to enable Private Messaging. Click on userCP at the top left of the screen, then click on Edit Options, scroll down and tick the box to enable Private Messaging

Thanks, Kale. I never thought of enabling PM in the userCP, I was of the impression that it was enabled by default

ditto, i come to read and am now starting to open up a bit. im unable to pm though as well.. and ive reached the 25 posts, and cannot find the pm box under user settings

I hope all these problems are not too common. I am also going to have to figure out how to be able to be in the "private" sections. Private to who? I would like to see pics of the legit products for verification purposes.

Profiles and PMs are restricted for the security of the members.

For instance, Jack Scammer registers and sees Joe Newbie posting like he needs a good source - Jack Spammer immediatly dispatches a PM to try and sell an expensive pack of tic-tacs labled D-Bol to Joe Newbie. Another reason we sensor posts that look like source requests or sources in general.

Or... Jack Spammer views profiles and starts sending out mass PM's and e-mails to everyone.

Both examples have happened and have been minimized by making a new member contribute for awhile before being allowed to view profiles and PM people. It would be further minimized by making new members wait for 50 or 100 posts... 25 really ain't that bad (if that is what it still sits at - up to the board owners discretion)... could be worse...
