    protein denaturation

ive been reading that a couple members have been taking their protein powder and mixing it up with water or milk or whatever then freezing it to make frozen protein pudding type stuff. anyways, i learned that proteins get denatured at extremely high or low temps. does this have an affect on protein shakes in the freezer? is there any chance that freezing the shakes makes them useless? just wonderin

You make a good point. I've not read anything specific to supplemental protein powders but exposure of proteins to freezing temperatures can change their structures (eg quaternary to tertiary) which would undoubtedly decrease digestability and reduce bioavailability.

this is a good post, i've heard the same as well... so i wonder what the exceptions are? cause i use bodttech pudding at times (love the stuff) so i wonder if i let it set in the fridge if the pro "goes bad"

denaturing doesn't change the quality of protein, merely alters the structure

it would really have to be burned to render it useless

So you feel that when a Branched Chain Amino Acid is broken down, it's still of the same quality?
