Running and Lifting for BootCamp! check my diet out

Hi there, I will be attending boot camp starting the beginning of July. I am currently training to run 2 miles in under 16 minutes and doing push-ups and sit-ups on the regular. I lift 3 times a week tues/thurs/Sun and will run on an empty stomach for 16 minutes everyday except sunday. I do full body workouts on Sunday, upper body on tuesday and lower body on thurs. I used to follow a bodybuilding split/diet, but my goals have changed. I want to build muscle and have good cardiovascular functioning/endurance.

    stats- 165lbs 5'11 13-14% bf

    Run/ 16 minutes
30 minutes later- 2 whole eggs, 3 egg white Omelet with a slice of FF cheese and various veggies, 1 cup of white rice.

2o Pm- Chicken Breast cooked in olive oil with a cup of oats in milk and some grape jelly.

5:00 Pm- Chicken Breast cooked in olive oil/turket breast in salad

8:00 PM- Steak with veggies and 3/4 cup oats in milk.

11;00 PM- 1/2 cup cottage chesse with some celery sticks or a piece of sweet potato.

the days i'll be lifting, I'll replace the 5PM meal with chicken/white rice or egg whites/white rice.

Any feedback would be great. Thanks.

i don't think RUNNING on an empty stomach is a good idea if you wanna build muscle. running is catabolic and if you do it on an empty tank, it's even more catabolic i beleive.

Bootcamp will never help you build muscle bro, i started bootcamp about a week ago and i am burning up fat and weight real fast.

Running is high intensity and forget building muscles while running even worst on an empty stomach.

If you wanna keep doing cardio do low intensity walking 3-4 times a week for 40 minutes, up your calories and build good quality muscles no fat.

    Good luck

if endurance and improving your VO2 is your goal. i would treat running like a workout. eat about 30-45 minutes before hand and run your ass off then eat afterwards to stop catabolism, and to begin protein synthesis.

What Boot camp have you been to? Probably none, so i suggest keeping your mouth shut about my country and its military training system, Recruits in canada are usually only allowed to go to the common area once a night for 15 or 20 minutes to smoke or have a break down their they have internet access, thats only if they are given permission. Next time you feel like posting, dont bother unless its somthing contructive towards the post, i dont appreciate you talking down on my country like that.

You guys get internet up there?? Damn, I was happy to get to sleep past 4am (and I was Air Force).

I would focus on cardio health and muscle endurance over hypertrophy. Lots of running and calithsentics(sp?). What branch you joining?

since when do you have internet access in bootcamp??

anyway, like someone has already suggested, i would eat a serving of starchy carbs and lean protein about an hour before running. it will give you the energy you will need to actually challenge yourself...which is the only way you'll improve your run time.
