When I read sample diets I see a lot of people eat half a cup of oats, is this a half cup dry and unprepared or is it half cup cooked in water? I've been measuring out half a cup dry then cooking them, have I been eating too much? The nutrition facts on the bag does not specify. FROM MY EXPERIENCE, ON THIS BOARD, UNLESS SPECIFIED, ALL FOOD QUANTITIES ARE STATED PRE-COOKED/OFF-THE-SHELF..IN YOUR CASE, OATS..SO DRY WEIGHT, IF CHICKEN, THEN "RAW" WEIGHT, ETC...
I'm on a cutting diet and I've cut out milk completely except for in my PWO shake, should I remove the milk from this too or is the sugar ok post workout? IMO, MILK IS A NO-NO DURING CUTTING, ESPECIALLY FOR PWO SHAKE...THE LACTOSE IS LOW GI AND THE CASEIN CONGEALS WITH THE WHEY PROTEIN, SLOWING DOWN ABSORPTION AS A WHOLE...YOU NEED SUGARS PWO, BUT NOT FROM THE MILK....AND CASEIN SHOULD BE USED FOR BEFORE-BED SHAKES, AND THAT TOO, AS A SPECIALIZED PROTEIN POWDER BLEND, NOT FROM THE MILK...AS FOR SUGAR PWO...IT IS VERY IMPORTANT, BUT IN THE FORM OF GLUCOSE/DEXTROSE TO REPLENISH MUSCLE STORES
Sample diets suggest approx 80g of dextrose in a PWO shake, according to my calculations this is about 110ml or 1/4 cup of dextrose. Am I correct or am I puttin in way too much? NOT SURE, BUT THAT SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT..A GOOD INVESTMENT ARE THOSE ELECTRONIC KITCHEN SCALES..SAVES YOU TONS OF GUESSWORK... AS FOR 80G, DEPENDS ON YOUR STATS, BUT IT SEEMS HIGH-ISH FOR CUTTING
Sorry for so many questions but I appreciate any insight.
