TRUE BELIEVERS,
It appears our concessions are growing, many of us grew up running our formal academic educations concurrent to our Marvel U. ones. We gladly acquiesce to certain creative liberties in the transition to film, as long as the ‘Main & Plain’ things are upheld. As such we understand that storylines require coherency and that the manipulation of character lives and interactions is an executive privilege often required to weave the otherwise complicated tapestry into a two-plus hour major motion picture.
For example, we can accept webbing coming directly from Peter's wrist as opposed to web shooters, Uncle Ben can be car jacked instead of surprising a burglar at home, and the spider can be a genetically enhanced superspider in lieu of a radioactive one…as Neo put it “upgrades, humph”. Those are not only acceptable but great as times have changed.
Furthermore, and not related to modernization but still acceptable, the King Pin can be a brotha, Bobby “Iceman” Drake can be at Westchester with Warren “The Angel” Worthington…completely off time-wise but if it promotes your chosen path go for it, and the Juggernaut can be an unfamiliar mutant instead of Charles’ stepbrother transformed by gem.

Whatever!

BUT DON’T START TAMPERING WITH THE VERY FABRIC OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE JUST BECAUSE IT FITS INTO YOUR TIDY LITTLE MOVIE TRILOGY.
Such actions as killing Scott Summers and Jean Grey (actually Jean's clone Madelyne Pryor...it's a long and frankly complicated story), whose very progeny Cable is destined to become the most powerful mutant alive and eventually lead humans against the machines, a la “Terminator” and “The Matrix” and the world's greatest threat ever Apocalypse.
And the extremely premature death of Charles Xavier is reprehensibly beyond reproach. Okay so Charles somehow, after being COMPLETELY disintegrated, reappears in a hospital bed after the credits, this only exacerbates the problem by further bastardizing a perversion of greatness. Now in case you want to extend the trilogy you’re bending the very space-time continuum to accommodate such blasphemy? This isn’t a soap opera. Have some self-respect.
And segueing on 'respect' can anyone even believe how these industrial/institutional criminals tried to rob Stan Lee of his life’s work reward by claiming he didn’t deserve to be paid from the Marvel/Sony joint profits from his creations. Well the last ruling as many will know awarded him a generous 10% of all proceeds, though it too is being contested.
All I can say is…EXCELSIOR Stan!!!
