    DEXTROSE--confused on how many Tablespoons??!!

    I just got my dextrose in today. But im confused on how much to take to get 120grams out of it. I'm doing 60grams of protein and 120grams of carbs. But it seems like I need to mix a wholeeeee lot of dextrose in each shake to get 120grams of carbs. Am I missing something? How many tablespoons do I need to get 120grams of carbs?

    you can do 120, but i think that is a little high. i usually stick to 80g.

    i dont know how many tablespoons it is, just get a scale, it will come in handy for a lot of other things too

    okay so lets say i even wanted to do 80 grams.....without a scale, how can i figure out how many carbs im taking in???

    1tsp is approx 4carbs.....ballpark

    and 3 teaspoons equal 1 tablespoon. sooooo that means I need to dump a whole lot of dextrose in every single one of my protein drinks to get 80-120grams of carbs ??????? that sounds crazy! Am i missing something when it comes to conversion of sugar????

    1 tablespoon = about 15grams so about 5 1/2 - 6 tablespoons will give you 80grams if you don't have a scale.

    Yah half a cup is around 90 something grams of carbohydrates.....it is a lot to toss in...tastes great.

    2 scoops whey and 2 scoops dex...(or 1 scoop dex and 1 scoop malto)

    this is my first time taking dextrose........i feel like im taking crazy pills to put in more than half a cup of dextrose in pre/post workout shakes!!!!! GUYS, IF THE REST OF MY MEALS ARE CLEAN.....THEN THE DEXTROSE WON'T MAKE ME FAT----RIGHT??????!!!!!!!!

    if you take dextrose, just buy a bag of powder, its like 2bucks for a couple pounds.

    what i do is sip on a 40g whey only shake right before my workout and during my warm up (this gives my muscles a headstart in recuperating). immediantly after my workout i have a shake with 40g whey, 80g dex. if you are on a diet i would go with 60g dex PWO.

    it will not make you fat, you will use alot of it immediantly to help replentish glycogen. it will also make your body release more insulin which is good if you take suppliments like creatine. also i'm not convinced that higher levels of insulin dont increase protein synthesis.

    the only downside to dex PWO is that your insulin levels will crash an hour or so later. this can be mostly avoided by eating a meal with around 50g good complex carbs and around 50g of a good protein source a 1/2hour after your PWO shake

    i normally take 50 g of protien and half a cup of dex after a workout with 5 gms of creatine.

    PWO, I would do 25g of dex and 1/2 cup oats....JMO.

    I'm 6'5 250lbs....10% BF......so i need that much about right??? 120grams????

    no.

    Like I said in my previous post. If your really worried about taking dex, do some high GI and some low GI.
