what part of LA is for me

hey.. im looking at moving to LA, just not sure what part would be right for me.
im 18, male, i obviously go to the gym, im pretty outgoing in my own environment, i dont really play any sports that are in america, i would like to do boxing or kick boxing, i like hiphop music, cars, im probly upper middle class, but ive been dirt poor before, im not really meterialistic or judgemental or a snob in that sense, im pretty open minded and easy to get along with, i dont think i like the beach but i might one day... i want a place where i can get arround easy in car.. with all like shopping malls ect.. and community stuff.. i dont wanna be in traffic jam at like 6pm just trying to go to the mall. i play computer games.. but i dont really sit on my computer all day playing. its just a personal preference i prefer to play a game then watch brittish tv from this country *switzerland*
u know id rather spend 30 minutes shooting people or swinging my sword trying to slaughter somone, rather then watching the real world on mtv which isnt that real i think. i wanna be able to meet people easy, im reserved and shy at times depends, like i coulda just walk upto somone with no reason and make a conversation.. i guess that gives me no chance at life but its just how i turned out. will spend a fair bit time at manhattan beach so prefer somwhere closer to that side of town.

There is no such time frame as "rush Hr." The hole damn day is rush Hr. There is traffic all time of day and it blows a big one. However you get use to it, (You have no other choice).
Also, don't move to Hollywood. It is dirty, poor and just horrible. Some places are alright but beware. If I were you and you can afford it, I would look more toward west Hollywood, Beverly Hills, perhaps Los feliz.

im pretty ok with money.. im not a stuck up person and im not a superficial snob that im told its like in orange county, there are some down to earth people there too i hope... im selling my subaru wrx.. 2006... here in switzerland, i will loose money but i can get a 2007 car with the same upgrades i think for the price i will sell my 2006 so it is a pretty sweet deal. but im not overly rich or spoilt.. but im doing well now

Well good luck where ever you choose! LA is great to visit but i could never live there, there is a party going on every night there, it's crazy. I went to Hollywood a couple of years ago and it was just insane, people everywhere in the streets and just insanity every where.

LOL....weird but true, i mean NYC is crazy but mostly on certain nights like wed, thurs, fri, and the weekend, to me LA just seems to be crazy every night of the week.

any feedback would be nice about people who live south side LA.. about compton i been thru rosecran in a rental mustange and it was too much at 12pm.. i went thru alot of red lights.. and inglewood on foot at night aint pretty either.. if ur brave enough not to turn and run when u walk through.. the locals will kick ur ass out straight quick i learnt that the hard way

I love LA. Great place, and great people. I'd definately live there if I could. I barely make enough to get by where I am now though, so noway could I offord to live in SoCal.

I'd look into moving somewhere close to the beach. Places that are further away from the water, have a very desert feeling to them. Hot all the time, alot like Nevada.

any 1 know how far of a drive Torronto yes canada is from LA and how far from vegas, but im like 90% sure LA/surounding area is only possibility for me
