Richards issued a video taped apology for his racial tirade and I for one don't buy it. His remorse may be after-the-fact realization that his career could be finished after being bombarded by the backlash. Kinda like a little hollow -- does he genuinely mean it? I would doubt it. It's like what they say about a drunk mans word's and his sober thoughts.

Any way you cut it what he said and did was fvcked up. There is no excuse for saying $hit like that to anyone. Yes people make mistakes but that was no mistake, he knew exactly what he was saying and probably feels like that deep down inside. Just look at the video. It's just like when someone sais something to you in a serious manner and then when they see how you react they say "oh i was just playing", bullshit for someone to come out and say that in the first place they must mean it. It has everything to do what you said. I'm not calling you a racist at all, nor am I getting defensive. I agree with what you said it is an unfair double standard, but again that isn't nothing compared to what black people have been going through for 400 years. It's a stigma that we as white folk must deal with from the past. The reason, IMHO, is that as a white person, if I dress up and clean myself up, I could pass for just about any status in this country. A black person must always subconsciously have to worry about people perceiving him as a thug, or a drug dealer, or a rapper, even if he is just a successful white collar employee or a blue collar worker. No one ever looks at a white guy in a Mercedes and thinks "Drug dealer or rapper". Blacks are not given the immediate benefit of the doubt, in fact they are given the exact opposite. It's unfair, and the black community must deal with this. So they complain about things, lash out, blame us for putting them in that situation. Can't blame them I guess, we didn't give them much of a head start 100 years ago. Of course the black community could be doing a bit mroe to help itself, but that is another story...

I dunno if I'm right or wrong, but I've never walked a mile in their shoes.

And I don't think the white man is too blame for all the problems black americans go through. If it wasn't for some white there would still be slavery. There are are definitely many social issued dealing with blacks that can be traced back to slavery and racism, but I personally think that blacks place to high of a premium on dressing a certain way and being perceived at a social status that are not really at. I also think that black parents push there children toward sports too much and just care about passing to play.
But again the point of my original post is that a double standard about black comedian or blacks period being able to call to call white honkeys is nothing to the hundred of double standards that blacks are placed under.And if that Kramer guy is not shunned it's kind of like taking a few steps back. I agree with some of what you've said. However, the truth is that America/WORLD will NEVER change..

How many of us live in segregated neighborhoods? Predominantly Black/ Predominantly White....

How many of us have only 1 White/Black/Hispanic/Asian Friend?

How many of us won't live in that neighborhood because all of THOSE people live there?

How many of us go to schools where only a certain race dominates the student body?

Unless there is ASSIMILATION and UNDERSTANDING between the races and various cultures on all levels, there will always idiots like Richards who will express their inner feelings when challenged.

I tend to agree we give some more consideration than others, you notice we never talk about american indian genocide or african genocide or tibetian genocide unless it benifits those who hold the wealth.

I think "kramer"(never knew his real name until recently) fukked up bad. He killed his career and could have incited a riot. He should have had material to deal with hecklers... they usually do and by they I mean comedians.
