    Michael Jackson Verdict Minutes Away...

    Thoughts?

I have been watching the trial and I think the defences case was very poor.

It wouldnt surprise me if Conrad Murray is guilty here.

I'm afraid I do not know the sentencing guidelines for involuntary manslaughter in the USA.

    Edit: 12-22months.

16-18 months if he's guilty for me...

The lesson here seems to be: don't value money over ethics by becoming a doctor to a junkie. Jackson paid insane money to people to do things that others were not willing to do.

It's because they have no life so they have to live it through someone else. The family is only interested in the money just like when he was alive. He was a messed up junkie who needed something that extreme to sleep. The poor doctor just happened to be the one who got suckered into agreeing but yet he never got paid for his services because the contract had not yet been signed.

Elvis owned his own pharmacy (basically) and died over drugs, Michael was just as bad, but with that said the Doctor who was giving it to him still had a conflict of ethics so he should be held accountable to a degree. I'm not sure if sentencing has started but figure him to get 2-4 for his part. If Michael had not have found this man he would have found another Doc to prescribe what he wanted. Money talks and BS walks and when a larger then life figure offers hundreds of thousands of dollars for services aka drugs, most will not refuse...only the highly ethical ones will and they are few and far between just as in politicians. People can and are bought all the time. It's just a sign of our times. Sad but true..

Typical America... No concept of self-accountability any more..
Of course its not the druggies fault who knowingly took the drugs or the family who knew and allowed it to happen. Lets blame it on the dr.

    Shoulda hired johnny cochran..

i think the doctor bears more responsibility than the family

i dont think the evidence showed beyond a shadow of a doubt that jacko didnt inject himself which is why a guilty verdict should come..i think it was decided like a civil case where preponderance prevailed moreless...because yes he was guilty/suspicious of several things but i wouldnt have put him in jail for manslaughter

I agree with this.. He was the one making the drugs available, but Michael also knew what he was taking and knew the risks.
They family had no direct involvement, they just didn't care enough to get involved until it brought them extra publicity.
I also agree the defense was weak, hence the reason for the guilty verdict.
The whole case is about saving face and $. Noone wants to acknowledge the real issue, so they place blame.

I think one of the big issues was the delay before calling 911... however, ( i didnt see the whole case just some highlighted points in an article) they say that the Dr. saw MJ not breathing and stalled time by cleaning up the vials and making other calls before calling 911... How did they know that was the order that it went in? did the doc say that?
By administering the drug, he didnt break any laws (no laws against using them in a home setting) but the fact was maybe the 'lack of watchfulness'? I dunno... I didnt pay enough attention to the whole case and such but I think there are some shady areas in the story.

yeh i didnt follow CLOSELY but couldnt help as 90% of the time i have the news on and even on political stations they cover it...

to add to what point you were making i think the fact that all character/witness doctors said they have never and would never use prophefal in a home setting nor IS it done and were vehement about that fact
