    scoliosis, squats and deadlifts

hey fellas, i got an "S" shaped curve in my back, nothin too dramatic. i think it's 14* on the bottom and 15* on the top. anyway, my doc says that if i continue to do heavy deadlifts, squats, etc. im on the fast track to ruptured discs, worn out cartilage, etc. anyone on here have any experience with mild scoliosis and heavy lifting? its killin me that i cant do these, i feel like all growth has come to a stand still. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks. - B-STRONG

My chiro told me the same thing, i am not a fan of deadlifts and squats either so i dont mind when i get back into training to switch theses exercises.

After all its better to make changes and avoid pain then live in pain all the time.

BTW a lot of doctors and chiros and more are against heavy weight training and in 6 years of consulting i met many that told me to avoid this like the plague.
