I traveling in a few days on a commercial airlines. Would it be safe to pack my gear into the check in side not carry on?

I just got back from a trip, TSA checked my bags....left the little sticker on my bag.
I had preloaded gear in my syringes, they went through my shaving bag where they were at...I know this because the covers over the pins were taken of....aholes!
I've had TSA take my protein powder.
I would be to worried to do it personally. What if they get curious and ask you what it is? It is a controlled substance and I believe transporting it across state lines makes it federal.
do it. and leave a note with ur pins saying u have AIDS
they wont go any where near it
i'm not sure if i was serious
DEFINATELY do not try to walk on the plane with them. I watched a guy get his stuff seized. Not because what was in there, but because of the pins. if they are still enforcing the liquid rule, then you couldn't even take vials on board.Originally Posted by beachdude
I think if it were me, I would buy a couple 5ml (small) vials and transfer enough to get you through your journey. Pack those in your luggage and put some insulin pins in there. If the vials are unlabeled and you have insulin pins, assumption should be. . .,insulin.
I would not preload for the reason above. leave your pins in the package. That way you know for certain if they have been messed with. If you have a FoodSaver or access to one, you could vacuum pack your shit. If the vacuum is broken, you know they have been messed with. If not, then you can iject with full confidence that no one touched your gear.
perhaps have them in ur pocket and then when u go through xray put them in the little trays for ur phone n wallet.
Whynot just pre-mail what you'll need to your destination.
As much as I travel that would not be possible, TSA usually does not employ Havard grads....there job is too detect anything dangerous. They are not the DEA, I should be more careful but really am not worried if they find a few pins.Originally Posted by SS1476
IMO i don't think it's worth trying to do it.. can't you wait till you get back...
this is one truly awesome thread

Now if I were going through customs, absolutely I'd mail my gear...they are looking for drugs. TSA is barely trained to look for what they're looking for,
but for anyone reading this thread I'm not condoning what I do, it's always better to be on the safe side.
What kind of gear? Most likely tommy is right, its not worth the risk
pre 9/11 it could be done but i wouldn't risk it now1
You could maybe buy some eyedrops, empty out the bottle (which I'm presuming will be sterile as you need to put whats in it into your eyes) and transfer your gear into the now empty bottle. All they'd se if they looked would be an eye drop bottle.
How about getting those hidden safe items like a water bottle or shaveing cream canister?...they look identical and are functional but you unscrew them at a certain point and bingo..a nice stash spot...just make sure when you shake it and pick it up nothing moves and rattels and a bottle thats legit weighs the same or closely..if your having a hard time finding them go pick up a high times magazine i remember you can order them out of there...when it comes to concealing man these stoners get creative there subject to search at the slight sniff of some good refer...
They were perfect for back in the dayOriginally Posted by nandro_shagg
Your only allowed 3 oz. bottles now
all fitting in a clear qt ziploc baggie.
Besides..thats for carry on,and will
be inspected,Im sure 2bshredded knows
IMO..I would rather drop some vials
in a 3 oz. shampoo bottle rather than
using eye dropper squirters for gear.
vacuum pack them and put them in anything thats not clear and put it in ur stow luggage. softener, conditioner, shampoo, hair gel. the thicker the better. conditioner is prob ur best bet. it will sink but not bang around when shook

sorry for the double post
I wouldn't risk bringing gear on an airplane, either in checked baggage or in a carry-on.
"Homeland Security" is not just trained to look for things as mundane as bombs... they are looking for vials of testosterone, hidden in bottles of hair conditioner, to confiscate.
Where do you think those assholes get their own gear from, anyway?

put everything you need in your balls and make sure theres no medal any where in your vials or on your person so when u walk thru nothing beeps and they let you go. Done. It works, trust me.

I'm just stating my experiences since 9/11...I'm on a plane at least 12 times a year. Been inspected by TSA twice, like I said last time they fcked with my pins, but other than that no problem.
SS1476 is right, it would be down right Dumb to carry on. The risk domestically is very low if it's in your checked baggage....at least this has been my experience.

They can and will take anything from your checked bags and will leave a note to that effect. On one trip I had pretty much everything that was not clothing removed from my bags - soap, shampoo, cologne, toothpaste, prescription hypertension medication, shaving cream, bic razor, etc. - everything. The left a note with an 800 number - that was perpetually busy - that stated I could make a claim for compensation.
It is rare for me to come back with everything in checked bags that I started with after about 2 trips. Sometimes I get a note, but plenty of other times I think it is just a TSA asshole needs whatever he sees in my bags and steals it. They essentially have the power of theft, and as you might imagine, they tend to use it. The basic message is - do not travel with anything you are not willing to lose to the TSA.
I thought that was the whole purpose of having checked baggage. . so that you can take items that you are not aloud to board the plane with. (sure, illegal gear would be an exception, but still)
The ****ers should not have the right to take your shit at will unless there is a true security threat.
