I got enough anti virus software that it wouldn't hurt me either, but its always good to alert those who don't have those precautions.

    AVG
    Windows Defender
    Notoron'
    and some small name one

    I'm pretty safe

anti virus software what is that.

I dont need any of the shit. That is one of the best things about a mac. There is like only 2 virus out there that can effect it.

But if you run a pc you do need all the anti virus shit. But the bitch is it slows down the computer so much.

I can never understand why someone plants viruses all over the web when all they do is mess with peoples computer, what do they get out of it? nothing... bunch of losers if you ask me.

well if you use cable like i do..i know for long island everyone is basically on the same network and its so easy to get information off neighbors computers..the only safe way is to disconnect internet when ur not using the comp

umm tehre are many free anti virus that are better then norton. norton is like mc donalds one of the first in its feild so it dominates. norton dose not block out most of the virus that are anouyin and hurt the pc. norton detection rate is very minimal to many other detectors. find a reliable adware scanner + virus protector. run norton first then others and see how many norton leaves behind its really terrible the amount of infected files and bytes that norton does not see.

I totally agree. Norton is old news. AVG is what I use on my computer. It's a really nice piece of software...doesn't bog the system down like Norton or McAfee. Oh, and the best part...IT'S FREE!!!!

    What about if...

The virus's were created and posted by the manufacturer's of anti-virus software. They have busineses to run and maintain.

No visus's, no anti virus software, no business, no money.

I know, its such a great product they probably want to cash in on their reputation. I'll find methods.

Also before I had a shitload of software, since I reprogramed my computer. I just keep a few and use AVG religiously and no problems, knock on wood

Why would anyone post a live link that would cause harm. I would disable that link. Mac users are not as safe as they once were. Myself I would never trade my pc for one.

This is something i think A LOT of people dont realize.

I just got nailed with Antivermin from myspace. I was prompted to d/load something to remove the blue drapes from their profile with Toms pic (youll know what i mean if youve seen it)
Than I notice a green leaf icon on the bottom of my computer and my comp started buggin out.
Every 30 seconds it kept springing javascript prompts saying i had a new different type of virus and would automatically take me to antivermins website (which i cant find now anymore) its not antivermin.com and i couldnt find it through google, i think it was fake actually now that i think about it.

they ask you to purchase the software after infecting you with the previous software that runs the virus script prompts.
not only that but even after you uninstall the initial software, the shit still stays on your computer. my brother had to go into dos's directory to get it out, and found out 4 other things were installed with the 1 package.

long story short, Tom from myspace is a deushbag.

Yeah, I always feel bad for people who get a baby spam in their inbox. They obviously didn't use a pop-up blocker!

I know. But it happens all the time. Apart from the hackers that are either trying to earn money, or nerds that have been in the same clothes for 10 days writting viruses, there is no doubt in my mind nerds/idiots are employed by anti-virus software companies or openly do it themselves covering there tracks.

    Billion dollar busniess.

Apart from government "hacker's" and "cycber crime fighters" who else are the cleverst people with a PC...

Anti-virus software companies in my mind.

Microsoft litter there software (Windows, now Vista) to bring business by producing uptodate "patches". Security "holes" and "gaps" appear almost daily.
