    c5 c6 disc buldge

I recently hurt my disc in my spine doing dumbbell shoulder press i was doin 75 pound an arm and when i got to my 11 rep there was a deep stabbing pain in my upper back lower neck in the spine i could not drive home or even move my head i had to get cat scans and mri scans done to see if there was any nerve damage lucky it wasnt bad enough for surgery but i have been out of the gym for a month now and i am just woundering if it ever going to heal cause it still hurt to this day and im worried when its better should i start doing shoulder press again or not cause im worried it will happen again any input would be great.

give it at least 2 months to heal, it may even take longer depending on how severe, avoid the over head lifting motion for a while , start again only doing military press in the front to your chin with lighter weight, dont go behind your neck anymore and no more dumbells unless they are very light weight and dont train to failure until you are fully healed

I feel your pain, my compression is between c4 and c5: Mine happened after a series of car and motorcycle injuries. Unfortunately I've been left with chronic neck and shoulder pain as well as neuropathy, burning nerves, in my right arm and shoulder and some minor numbness in my left foot. But, I still workout 4 to 5 days a week. Some exercises I just can't do, but there are others that work fine. Good luck with the injury, hopefully you have age on your side, rest and relax and take a little break.
    Peace,
    CR

Had C5, 6 and 7 discs between removed replaced with hipbone back in 90. Still good to this day, knock on wood although I always have a hint of arthritis in my neck. Especially on a bench day.
