Thread: I could not aspirate the syringe.....

I could not aspirate the syringe.....

Just shot my first test injection in my glute. After inserting the pin, I tried to aspirate and it was very hard. I freaked out figuring I did something wrong. I pulled harder, and one tiny air bubble popped in the syringe.

Does this mean I was in the muscle? It was almost like it was in a vacuum. No blood entered the syringe.

Thats exactly what is supposed to happen. You dont have to pull back hard and you generally see a tiny air bubble. If there is no blood you fire away.

Aspirating is not meant to be hard or soft. Its a flick of the syringe. Your not trying to drag it back so hard that you suck flesh into it. If you are in a vein then blood will probably go into the syringe without even aspirating but you have to just pull it back a tiny bit to be sure

If you get into the vein when you pull back even a little bit you will get a flash of blood. Just like Kale said, your not trying to aspirate flesh, just pull back enough (which is just a bit) to see if you get that flash, no blood = good to go.

Wouldn't that be bad to inject if there is a air bubble in there.

Not at all in fact seeing an air bubble is entirely normal. I actually put half a cc of air in the syringe so that I am sure all the juice gets expelled during the inject. It actually takes about 20 CC of air to kill you

Why are people usually so anal about getting all the air bubbles out then? As in flicking it or squirting a little out to get the air bubbles out.
