    court case over with!

i got myself in abit of legal trouble 16 months ago, and have finally been sentenced this past friday.

after nearly a year and a half of just passing the time, and not being able to make any solid plans for my future, i can get back to progress, or nearly atleast.

anywho, i plead guilty to GBH assault, and was sentenced to an 18 month suspended sentence, 200 hours community service, and £1000 fine.

in one respect i feel thjat they raped me right there in court, but, atleast they didnt lock me up. what saved me is my excellent character! even says so in the newspaper!

just thought id vent alittle on this site, thanks guys, that is all!

I am happy for you bro. What exactly is a GBH assault? I had a similar situation a few years ago but I fought a cop who was off duty and didn't identify himself so I was able to just get community service. Anyways good luck with getting on with your life. I know how stressful it can be thinking you may have to do jail time.

it sure sucks alot of unclean ass.

GBH basically equates to assaulting someone resulting in some for of serious injury beyond cuts/bruises. in my case i broke some coke-heads jaw.

the main thing going against me was the fact that i am a bouncer, and was working when the incident happened. the judge went on about how i betrayed the venues trust and did not act as a peacemaker. i cant disagree, as my actions on the nite were not rational or reasonable, but in the 3 years that ive been doing the job, i have never made any other serious mistakes.

you should have plead not guilty....one thing i learned in all my court dealings is you can walk out of anything if you just look innocent (which might be hard for a big bald bouncer) and plead not guilty...

    most things anyway

did you seek any type of course before such as counciling or anger management before hand?

I was in a sim sit. and on my own I saw a counceler which helped me reduce my sentence because they felt I was really trying to become better, which I was.

my downfall was being far too honest from the get-go. otherwise i would have gone not guilty all the way. i only just recently changed my plea to the guilty one.

if i ever do something stupid to put me in this situation again, i would handle it far differently, and likely walk.

if had played the game right from the start, it wouldnt have even reached court

I remember you talking about this before Timm and how worried you were but congrats man. IMO you did the RIGHT thing by being honest upfront. Lying is a bad habit and always has a habit of catching up with you. Out of interest which paper is this mentioned in? Surely not The Sun!

I feel you on the legal troubles. I got into a mess last year and got into a program where I had to take a bunch of classes and as long as I stay out of trouble for another 9 months (18months total) my record gets wiped clean.

In a way the trouble was a god send, those that stuck by me I now know I can count on through thick and thin and those that didn't I should have ditched long before the incident.

Well Timm i'm certainly glad you won't be keeping your soap on a string wrapped around your wrist, that would have sucked. Glad everything went ok, a little community service and you will be done in no time.

You know what happens if your soap is not connected to a peice of string and tied to your wrist when your locked up right?

    If not just ask snrf.

no we didnt mention that. i also have been informed by some of his associates that he now sells cocaine also. but im not a snitch, karma will catch up with him.

flagg, no it was my local county paper, and as much as i agree with you about being honest, i do not agree that it applies to this situation. the legal system is the biggest game that i have played, if only id have known the rules from the get-go id have fared much better. unless there is clear CCTV footage of your crime, deny deny deny

english law only looks after the guilty,i know from experience.its kak.

a couple of mates have been done for gbh and they both got 2 years but did only serve 6 months or so.and even with those circumstances i think you were lucky.

well done anyway,i know what a relief it can be to have something like that taken off your shoulders

you can't bring up someones actions like that fosk, the fact he does drugs doesnt mean u can kick the shit out of him..anyway this thread will be locked if u keep bringing it up

  26. #26
it dosnt mean you can kick teh shit out of them yes, but it does get you more credibility i would like to think, for the need to use strong force.
