ive seen that pic before thanks. Im sure thats a good spot.
But how could that be the spot described below adn attached Thumbnail. this has to be much closer to the front of the body.

Hip (Ventrogluteal) Site For IM Injection
Find the trochanter. It is the knobby top portion of the long bone in your upper leg (femur). It is about the size of a golf ball.
Find the anterior iliac crest. The nurse will help you find the bone landmarks.
Place the palm of your hand over the trochanter. Point the first or index finger toward the anterior iliac crest. Spread the second or middle finger toward the back, making a 'V'. The thumb should always be pointed toward the front of the leg. Always use the index finger and middle finger to make the 'V'.
Give the injection between the knuckles on your index and middle fingers.
Stretch the skin tight.
Hold the syringe like a pencil or dart. Insert the needle at a right angle to the skin (90 degrees).
You may give up to 3 ml. (cc) of fluid in this site.

1st its more accessible for self injecting (i.e. no twisting and turning).
2nd theres much fewer vessels and or nerves to hit.

Press in the side of your abdomen where the love handels are, at about the level of you belly-button....that is the illiac crest. Go straight down about 6-8 inches and the next bone you feel is the greater trochanter...it is about the level of your genitals.
Sounds like a painful place to inject! The pain following the shot would probally make it hurt to walk for a few days. Good luck.

it doesnt matter where u stick! a muscle is a muscle and it will all absorb the same way. if your looking for something easy to shoot then do the delts or the pecs.

ventroglute is a great spot to hit. good for 2-3 cc's easilly. its three inches from the top of your hip bone, just like nyjetsuckfan said.
