I wouldn't be so sure. I don't know about BC, but in Ontario they (OHIP) will cover gland excision, but not lipo. So in effect it covers a bit more than half the operation. You just have to find a doctor who will do it.

It's a non-necessary cosmetic procedure so unlikely you will find a plastic surgeopn who will any portion of it and bill MSP. So I would just forget about trying to get MSP to cover any of the cost and just pay out of pocket. It will typically cost you around 3-4K for the procedure. Of course this doesn't include travelling costs and lost time from work. However, on the bright side with current CCRA rules you do get a tax credit for a % of the procedure. Best of luck.

Are you sure about that? I'm just asking because in Ontario, the total cost is about 1k, not including travel or work obviously. And even though it is non-necessary, the gland excision WILL be covered. That's just OHIP. I hope BC has something similar.

The gland removal is covered in BC, Canada but the lipo is not

Just tell your doc you think its been there since you were 13 or so and it bothers you enough to the point of being embaressed in public. Also tell him it hurts when you play contact spots and stuff.

I must warn you, if your surgeon sucks it might turn out worse then it was before. My gyno was very insignificant and it looks worse and more pointy then before the surgery. I need to find a real pro and get the shit done proper even if i have to pay for it now.
