    it's been awhile, Pict update

These are not the best but I thought I would throw up a couple of off season picts. I'm 5'6" 200 and staying near contest shape. I'm striated and vasuclar in my quads, hamstrings and calves.

In the picts you can kinda see conditioning.

Quad shots are taken cold. Haven't trained them in a week. I'll probably hit them tomorrow or Wednesday.

Man, your face is so oily from all the test it's reflecting the sun like a mirror

But seriously bro, your quads have great shape, symmetry and size. If you don't mind sharing, what exercises do you find particularly at helping you get that sweep... I'm trying to achieve that right now and any tips would be great!

    cheers

    You're only 200 lbs.!
From your earlier pics I put you at 240, at least.

My goal is just to put on as much size as possible without putting on fat. I think the same goal as everyone.

I've been focusing on back and biceps. I had a forearm injury 2 years ago and it made it very hard to train biceps properly. It's healed so I can train them heavy again.

I vary my foot position on squats, leg press and hack squats. My feet side by side on hack squats I really feel my outer sweep.

I split quads and hams 2 seperate days so they both get at least a solid hour. My leg workouts vary. We do something different every week. The following is an example.

    Quads
    4 sets leg extensions
    4-6 sets leg press
4-5 set hack squats (feet together)
4 sets free squat or I'll throw in dumbbell squats

    Hamstrings/Calves
    4 sets standing leg curls
    4 sets seated leg curls
4 sets laying leg curls legs crossed (2-3 sets of half rep curls superset in)
    Stiff leg deadlifts

    Then Calves

I weighed more before up to 215 but I was not as lean or conditioned. Victor wants me to stay 5-6 weeks out from contest as far as conditioning. I'm gaining weight but just slower. My strength is increasing pretty fast though.

I plan to do a show early spring '08 followed by a national show. I asked my trainer if I should do a show this fall. He said to wait and see how I look 6 weeks out and he'll decide if I should prep for it or not.

Because Victor likes to kick my ass and make me cry. He yells at me and laughs saying "Is that all you got?" Then he'll say don't you want to be Mr. (and name a contest title.) I shake my head yes and keep going.

We don't always do squats last. We do a warm up with leg extensions super set with a heavy movement. Leg press or hack. Once I am tired and really pumped he says now the workout begins and we'll move to squats or something else heavy. We usually keep lunges for contest prep. I hate them so much you have no idea! They are the devil! He'll give them to me dead last some times and snicker as I try and keep balance.

Would that be Mr. Munoz? If so great guy I met him when he was down here for Southern States spoke to him on and off again during pre-judging, super great guy and extremely knowledgable.
