DO NOT DO A "NO CARB DIET" !! I went to the.....

    hospital last night :'(

omg.... i felt like CRAP !!!!

well yesterday i wanted to try a no carb diet, in hopes of shedding body fat, but no sir... i will never, ever EVER cut my carbs out again

for breakfast i had my protein drink, 7oz tuna fish with just 1 rice cake (42g Pro, 11g carbs) and for lunch i had protein drink, more 7oz tuna fish with some vegetables (42g pro, 5g carbs)

about 1 hour later than the lunch, i had me a 2oz beefjerky (28g prot, og carbs)

so up until 3:30pm yesterday, i had consumed 102g pro, 16g carbs....

at about 4:00pm, i had some really REALLY bad diahrea, and some fever chills, i got home and i felt really crappy! went to the bathroom about 9 times and i threw up about 3 times, food and blood too !!

felt like that until i couldnt take it no more, it was 11:23pm and i went to the hospital

i told the doctor everything that i have mentioned to you guys before and he told me was i tryin the atkins diet? i was like whats an atkins diet?

he explained and i was like yea i guess that is what i was going for, and he said it dangerous for your health....

needless to say, i missed my oatmeal breakfast and my fruits, and i missed my brown rice for lunch :'(

so unless your more educated in how to approah this diet (i sure wasnt) dont do it, you can cause some serious damage to your self being....

but as for me... im going back to my regular diet, i like the results im gettin so far and im happy, i dont need to go to no extreme as restricting myself to certain carbs

hope you guys found this helpful

i have gone no carbs for 2 weeks str8 when depleting.. its not .. really big deal at all.. blood glucose is low but the body can still synthize everything it needs via amino acids.

i really dont see that being attributed to low carb in any way.

Definelty sounds like more of something else to cause all that drama.I've gone 4 sometimes 6 weeks without carbs, but always took multivitamins and drank plenty of coffee and plenty of water.

I've gone 2 months without carbs (except for 2 cheat days) and I never had any of those symptoms. A no carb diet will not make you throw up blood... as far as I know.

A no carb diet should not have done that to you, plus getting sick that quick cutting carbs could not have done that to you

better tell the millions of successful atkins people they better stop!

seriously, figure out the true culprit of your issues first and then blame the no carbs.

maybe you didn't wash your hands? j/k

But I agree with the other bros, low-carb shouldn't be doing that to you....unless you hopped onto it so fast instead of easing into it that your body couldn't adjust in time (with changing the enzyme profiles and all)...but still, that's still a far stretch.

That still should not cause those kinds of problems. Either way good luck and try it again, remember no one likes a quiter

If you were doing a low carb diet then carrots shouldn't have even been on the menu. A low carb diet is just that low carb....first two weeks no more than 20 grams of carbs....14 days later you'll be in ketosis. After 14 days you can up the carbs to 60 grams per day. one cheat meal every 14 days there after until you drop the weight you're looking to drop. Until you get into ketosis you won't be dropping anything.

Personally I like to jumo start my diet with a day fast then carve out all the carbs. Generally I can get into a decent ketosis state within 8-10 days.

It could have a million things..dehydration, food poisoning...I cut carbs for a month once. Still do now, but for no longer than a week or so at once.

What did the bloodwork show from the hospital? Throwing up blood is never good, you may have a serious internal problem. As many of the posters have stated, going no carb would not cause this.
    good luck
