What'll really make you cringe is when they arn't doing a bone marrow aspiration, but a percutanious screw placement in the spine. They hammer that sucker right into the pedicle of the vertibrae with no inscision. Then they shove a guide wire down the needle, take the needle away and send a 7 mm diameter x 50 mm long screw down the guidewire.
I see open spine surgery on a regular basis as part of my job, nothing bothers me. I saw someone loose 4.5 liters of blood last week.
