Swifto, is this the same name you have on mt.co.uk or do you use a different one? Ive probably spoke to you before on there, been busy on there before but its taken a move in a different direction away from bodybuilding which is annoying because you get more and more of the 'pub lads' coming on and ruining the atmosphere. My journal is running over there though and i want to keep it running, there are some good guys there aswell.
This site seems to have much more knowledge about bodybuilding though in respect to competition, ive been reading through the contest prep posts and there is some great advice, this is the type of stuff that is v useful and shows who is helpful and really knows their stuff.
Erm, to answer a few q's, i have been training for 7.5 years now and just turned 25 years old. I dont really know how many cycles ive ran because i havent counted, i started aas after i trained just over 3 years naturally, was 21 when i started and ive been doing quite a few low dose and low duration cycles in that time...generally i cycle 6-8 weeks and then take 6 weeks off. Ive tried doing 10 week cycles and 12 week ones aswell and dont find them effective for me...its all about the way that the aas work for your own body.
With some people they might find sustanon an exceptional aas and feel next to no pain and no flu like symptons and great gains...lol but with me sust is a bloody nightmare, i get the temperature and sh*tty feeling about 2 hous after the jab (and this lasts for 2 weeks until that stuff really gets into my system) and the pain i get from the ba content in the sust totally fuks me up, i can hardly move my quads and walk without really bad pain...because of this i dont use sust needless to say lol.
So find what works for your own body and stick with it. Everyone is different.
This goes with training aswell, find what works best for you...do 2-3 different styles and a few types of routines over a few years and spend 4-6 months on each then you can monitor progress and adapt to what works best for the individual, bodybuilding is a lifelong hobby/lifestyle/sport etc which is very long term, no real results happen overnight and anything that seems to be a result that comes v quickly is only temporary.
I like to train with quite high sets and high reps but i will go for a heavy set generally speaking every exercise...to pick a weight i feel is heavy and churn out 8 reps...maybe if im going to increase the weight to a pb then i'll attempt 6 instead... but generlly speaking 6 reps is the minimum.
When i train i like to really feel my muscles working, try to feel the mind muscle connection...i believe that this is one of the keys to growth (but cant prove it lol) but i figure a lot of guys think the same way.
Hope that answers some questions, take care.
