    gym equipment

there is not a gym within thirty minutes of where I live... Iam thinking about well starting one...

what kind of equipment would be good for starting out, most bang for the buck, Ive used a lot of different equipment, but never priced any.

And what is essential for you guys, cant live without, at the gym?

I would buy a squat rack and a bench. That way you can do all your presses and squats off the rack. And get some dumbbells then you also have the bench for them.

Well you said for starting out. That's why i said the rack and bench. Body Solid also makes an affordable cable cross machine. That would do about everything you need if you have both set ups

For cardio i would only get a good elliptical.

Not sure if the have one in your area but you can check Play It Again Sports.

    http://playitagainsports.com/

There stuff is in great shape and 50% to 25% of the price when brand new. The way I figure is the gym membership is $35-45 a month ($420-540/year) pus gas...I got a cage, bench and 400+ lbs. in plate, and Dbells up to 55 for slightly more than $700. Only bad thing is it is hard to find Dbells over 65 unless you order them commercially.

Hit it up around the end of summer...after Fat Boy gave up on working out with it and sold it.
