Effect of steroids on the brain

    Hey guys,

I've seen a bunch of different articles and opinions on this subject. Many media related articles say that steroids can be very harmful to cognititve parts of the brain such as learning and memory. Someone here posted a while ago that high testosterone in rats from injections caused rapid brain cell death.

I've also read the complete opposite -- that increased testosterone levels actually *improve* memory and other cognitive functions.

So what's actually the truth? Does anyone know for sure? I'd like to believe that we aren't slowly killing our minds with this stuff!

Our brain is mad up of millions of neurotransmitter; this is the reservoir of all our cognitions and continuing learning abilities. By any substance that we place in our bodies, it's intercepted into our Central nervous system that in which some cases may have repercussions that can reverberate upon our cognitions. It's believed that when a foren substance is placed in our bodies, it prevents the neurotransmitters from forming more, this is the process of learning, Which comes from our frontal lob; this is associated with all higher learning abilities. Although, it may not damage transmitters it just prevents them from growing.
