damn good question, answer this dude, I wanna know too. Info on alezaic acid would be nice too.

On another note, I have read a couple recent studies on Rooibos (the red tea), showing it has anti-inflamatory properties with one company now selling it in a lotion for hairloss prevention. Interesting stuff. I've since boiled some down and added it to my shampoo, I'll see what happens.

Dunno if this thing works, but they say the FDA has reviewed it, and it is supposedly effective.

You can also massage your scalp 6-8 times a day to encourage blood flow through your scalp, which gets extra nutrients to the cells that are trying to grow hair. It's easy to do at work or when waiting at stop lights. And, you should keep your scalp clean, don't use hair goop (pomades or gel or etc), or hair conditioner, as it will clog up the hair folicules and make life difficult for them. Use shampoos that rinse easily, such as "Baby" shampoo, "Clarifying" shampoo, or just about anything that is translucent. Cheap shampoo is just as good as the expensive stuff; it's the detergent that does the cleaning, and there's not enough of anything else in shampoo to do much of anything. Don't use creamy shampoo, 'cause it is formulated not to rinse out thoroughly, and it won't rinse off your scalp.

What is Low Level Laser Hair Therapy?

For many years exclusive hair clinics and trichological hair treatment centers in Asia, Europe and Australia have been using photo-therapy (or laser therapy) very successfully in treating hairloss problems. But until now, this form of laser therapy is only available at clinics and trichological hair centers which the consumer have to visit the clinics or trichological centers to have their treatments regularly (either weekly or bi-weekly). In the long run consumers pay for expensive per session treatment because these clinics or trichological centers invested tens and thousands of dollars in conventional laser hood equipment. In short consumers have to pay over and over again monthly and yearly. Thus we have developed a home use low level laser therapy device - The HairMax LaserComb - to empower every consumer.

    The HairMax Concept

Our idea is simple, to empower every consumer like the Personal Computer - so that every one who suffer from hairloss can bring the benefits of low level laser therapy back home without having to pay again and again for similar therapy - Now we bring you this beneficial technology into the comfort and privacy of your own home or anywhere you travel - at a fraction of the cost.

The HairMax LaserComb is the first handheld photo-therapy device developed for stimulating hair growth and to arrest hairloss using Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT). As a OTC (Over-the-Counter) non-prescription required, home-use device it is designed to be very easy and simple to use. The dosage is just 3 times a week ( each session 15 to 20 minutes), application is like combing your hair, the concept is to allow the beneficial light beams to shine on your scalp s that after a period of therapy, you will find that your hair are thicker, healthier and more manageable.

HairMax LaserComb Premium & HairMax SE Compact

At present the HairMax LaserComb Premium and HairMax SE Compact is made in the USA and to insure quality and customer satisfaction, the device is manufactured under quality standards as required of a medical device - ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2003 quality standards The LaserComb is also patented in the USA with patents pending status in more than 104 countries. In addition, the LaserComb also earned CE for conformity with the essential health and safety requirements set out in the European Directives. Furthermore the device is also registered as a Class 2 medical device in Canada and Singapore.

The HairMax LaserComb Premium and HairMax SE Compact encompasses a state-of-the-art high precision medical laser diode encased in a super strength housing for ultimate durability. The laser module has a estimated life of 10,000-15,000 hours, realistic life span is 10+ years when used according to instructions. User feedback collected to date indicated that more than 90% of the HairMax LaserComb users achieved positive benefits and are satisfied with the results they achieved.

thinning on the front and temples is the hardest to prevent. you're running most of the compounds that can stop hair loss, so if they dont help you're pretty much going to have to accept the fact your hair is going to fall out.

does anyone on your moms side have a history of mpb?

No just that, it takes about 6 months to see results. I took pics the day I started, 6 months later then a year later. Huge difference. Before friends used to say how I was losing hair, I have not heard anyone say that me in a few years. People that have just met me in the last couple of years never assumed I was losing my hair.

I find being called a queer very offensive.....i prefer man whore.

To be honest there are many guys out there that are bald and can pull it off nicely. I just hope when my time comes i can do the same. I think the trick is to try and get rid of that "shine" after you shave your head. Yes, i have done my research , lol. When my time comes and it is coming i want to be ready !

I think I started noticing some thinning hair in the temple area, and when I was at the doc i mentioned it to her. I told her I was using nizoral and she said it was pointless except for danruff. I am thinking about some fina or duta, anyone have a preference and why?

I would think nizoral + spiro is kinda redundant, as they are both anti-androgens.

Don't know, someone needs to do a study so I can answer that. Just talking off the top of my head, they may work gr8 together.

Don't feed into all the bull$hit products out there. Only look at what has been scientifically proven. 1) propecia (dust) 2) minoxidil (Rogaine) .

From the research I had done (About 4 years ago) rogaine best results were in the back. I have not needed to do any further research since I receding is no longer receding.

Hair in the front is more stubborn to regrowth. Rogaine works in the front, but their fda study was just for hair in the back, so that is all they are cleared to market it for.

most treatments can speed up hairloss at first, there is an initial shedding period before the hair grows back thicker, its normal.
