had two hernias at different times....both located just above the groin....left side first...then right side about 12 years later....the first one i went in straight away for surgery...was too tweaked out to do anything else....felt like my body had betrayed me.....on the second one although it does feel weird, that is what i did was just push it in.....like you say it is just some positions or movements and it would slide out...asked the dr and he said only down side was if it stayed out...it could cut movement of colon.....i hung in for about 6 months....was fairly active...just avoided some movements...the key is don;t let it stay out....

I carried a hernia for a couple of years. It was an Inguinal hernia. During a routine physical, doc placed his hand on both sides of my balls and asked me to cough. When you cough then it pushes out sligh ly. You can perform this test on yourself also. I got the op.

Mine never felt any pain. It's just something you need to be aware of when working out and work around it. It never became noticable till I lost alot of weight.

I have an inguinal hernia, albeit a very small one. It sometimes causes pain, but I'm not going under the knife unless it gets in the way of my life. I haven't felt any pain from it in a couple of months.

The surgery for an inguinal hernia is supposed to be very quick if it is small. If it's large, they might want to put a little sac in there to hold everything in the abdominal area.

If you do surgery, remember to go in with a really good anesthesiologist. A relative of mine went into surgery and the anesthesiologist ****ed him over. He had a huge bulge that was so painful in his kidneys. They ended up having to stick a tube up his penis to drain the buildup in his kidneys. His dick hasn't been working well since...

Good luck. I hope this story helps someone out!

Good lord, I'm freaking out now. I'm going in for hernia surgery tomorrow!!

Freaking messed up my whole workout plan. Been working out consistently for 5 years now, was just getting ready to do my first cycle in 3-4 months. Now it looks like I will be out a month completely followed by a couple of months of low weight sets (for squats/deads).

I'm guessing 4-5 months after surgery to get back to where I was followed by 4-5 months before I get ready for my first cycle! NUTS! I HATE THIS!

    Any advice bros?

your plan sounds good. just get some information about your anesthesiologist. I think my distant relative couldn't control his bladder because his nerves were anesthetized. So the liquids he'd been drinking were accumulating in his kidneys.

The story was no joke. They really did end up having to stick a drainage tube up his penis.

    Be ****ing careful.

All done! Went through surgery yesterday, already I seem to be in lesser pain today. I got the laproscopic procedure done. I'm taking a full month off from lifting though, it sucks and I hate it but better safe than sorry. I'll keep you guys posted on the progress and getting back into gradual lifting. Just a minor roadblock to my eventual goals, it sucks but shit happens
