is that sting on the right?
looks like a young sting
legion of doom?
That's UW and Sting, then known as the Blade Runners, during the 80's in Mid-South Wrestling organization. The middle guy is their, then, manager, Dirty Dutch Mantel. Later, they would be managed by the late, Frank Duccet (husband of Missy Hyatt). They were a poor impersonation of the Road Warriors but the two devastated the Mid-South Wrestling organization almost as much as The Fabulous Freebirds. Sting used his current name but UW went by the name of "Axe".
I watched their "Loser Leave Mid-South" match between the late great Junkyard Dog and "Cowboy" Bill Watts (owner of Mid-South). Axe took the fall and left Mid-South. And the rest was history. The next time I saw him was in World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW-Texas), owned by the Von Erichs. At that time, he went by the name, the Dingo Warrior, and that name stayed with him for years. From there, his reputation grew. Once he hit the WWF, still not well experienced in the ring, he was known as the Ultimate Warrior and kept that name ever since.
