    Low Carb Diet??

23 years old, 6 foot, 205lbs. bodyfat is around 14%

I am trying a low carb diet, but my question is will low carb intake affect my progress in the gym?

    Daily I eat

    Breakfast:
3 or 4 eggs or a chicken breast, or 2 cans of tuna

    Pre workout:
5g creatine, nitric oxide, can of tuna or chicken breast

    Post workout:
5g creatine, nitric oxide, can of tuna or chicken breast

    DInner:
2 chicken breast, can of tuna, half head of lettuce

    Snack:
    apple

I also drink a gallon of water everyday.

    Any advice?

If you read my post, you'd actually see what it said, first of all a can of tuna=30 grams of protein, I eat atleast 3 cans a day. A chicken breatast is about 30 grams of protein, I eat about 2 or 3 of those a day, and I drink a 40 gram protein shake, so that adds up to around 160-190 grams a day

2nd of all I do not eat two meals,
I eat breakfast, I drink a shake after my workout and eat, then I eat dinner, then I have a snack.

3rd of all I eat some fruit, which has carbs. I am probably eating under 100 grams of carbs a day though

Depending on your definition of progress, I would suggest that you that your diet will most definitely affect your progress negatively.

There are much better ways to go about a low carb approach, if you are attempting to lean out while maintaining (or, perhaps, gaining) lean body mass.

Your diet lacks EFAs which, IMHO, should be a staple of any diet- especially low carb diets. You should consider supplementing with fish oil for all of its health and nutritional benefits.

Any carbs should be taken within a pre/peri/post workout window. If you plan on being as strict as possible on a low carb approach, I would limit fruit, alltogether. Post workout would be the best time; however, fruit is not the best carbohydrate source for glycogen replenishment (it will do the trick...there are better options, though).

It is hard to gaugue your total kcal and macronutrient intake, but it looks like it is very low for someone holding, roughly, 175 lbs of lean body mass. My advice would be to first add variation to the diet- low carb diets are a bitch, bro! Try to toss in some fish, steak, turkey, and the like- it is always better to vary protein sources. Second, as mentioned, I would include more EFAs and consider a fish oil supplement. Third, I would increase the amount of green veggies you eat- try to have a serving at every meal. Finally, I would try to outline a more concrete plan for your diet- that is, set out a meal plan consistent of your total kcals and macronutrients for each meal. You'll be more likely to receive further input from other members.

Why do you eat the half head of lettuce? Lettuce has pretty much no nutritional value of any kind - like eating water. Unless you just like lettuce..

wow dude where to start...you are getting protein but thats it. you still need carbs not just for a good workout but also to have energy and make it thru the day without crashing. and you have no essential fats. read a lot and that wil help you a lot. but i do know if you dont eat moe than 1000 calories a day without carbs and good fats you will lose tons of what youve worked so hard o put on. its a lot of work but just ask questions. good luck man.
