when to start taking PROPESIA?

If you don't have *any* hair loss now and are using finasteride as prophylaxis only I would *theorize* (I have no direct experience with this) that because the half life is on the order of 6-8 hours it will be at a theraputic level the first or second day after you begin taking it. That means beginning before the cycle is not useful. You would only be using it during periods of increased DHT (If your cycle doesn't make use of compounds like test which will convert to DHT a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor is pointless). This means that you will take it during the entire cycle and depending on the half life of the steroid in question from one week to 2 months. Of the top of my head I seem to remember a dose of 50 mg of test a week to be about what the normal male produces. So if you were taking 50mg a week, your body would adjust to this and your steady state level would be at or a bit above a normal physiologic amount of test (its just not coming from your testes anymore). That means you would need no precautions against DHT conversion because your levels are normal.

So imagine taking 500mg of Test E a week (half life 10 days). Your steady state is going to be around 750mg a week (this isn't how the steady state is typically written, but the math will be the same either way so i wont bother with a conversion to take into account ultimately irrelevant body weight) . How long does that take to become a normal test level after quiting? About 4 half lives...or 40 days. If you were taking 1g a week you would need 50 days...if you were taking a short acting ester it would still be 4 half lives at 500mg a week, but a half life is shorter.
