I think the U.S. needs to step up there efforts to combat this pandemic of obesity so it got me thinking... What if across the nation businesses started giving discounts to people thinner and in shape? Wouldn't that motivate those fat ass slobs to get off their ass and do something? Or we could have the government create a "fat tax", and start taking money out of fat peoples' pay checks depending on their height, weight, and body fat... And maybe give us in shape guys a refund every year...

Lets tax the food and medical industries for the gross profits they gain by keeping people fat use it to educate poor people on health, fitness, and nutrition. Then force the food companies to sell organic foods, with out high fructose corn syrup, refined sugars, polyhydrogenated fats. You have every right to disagree with how another person lives their life and then voice your opinion on it. You have absolutely no right to penalize those people for living their lives the way they want to. People could start taxing bodybuilders for being above the recommended height&weight requirements. Did you ever think of that? Most of us on here weigh a lot more than the recommended/suggested weight for our height&weight and hold more muscle than most doctors think is necessary. Who are you to judge? Who are you to impose your beliefs on others?

i dont think that it should be a law, but i would like to see an insurance company that is only for healthy people so that the premiums would be alot lower. you could weed out alot of the heart,bp,cholesterol,diabetes, etc. and would make it more affordable for every one who does try to maintain a healthy life; by not having to pay for everyone who does not share the same compassion for their body/health. then again i am an insurance agent.

A tax on soda is already very likely in a few cities including San Francisco. People don't care if their soda costs $1 dollar or $1.25, fat people will still buy. A lot of the people who buy soda arn't even fat. Forget about the government being intrested in helping you, they just want the money, just like how they condemn cigarettes but that doesn't stop them from shaking down the manufactures. Soda is a huge industry, and a growing industry, sales tax isn't enough, government wants a bigger cut of the action. Make fat people exercise if you want to him them where it hurts, they hate that. Don't expect that rebate check for being in shape, they want more money from you too.
