Certain areas bleed more than others. I usually don't when pinning glutes but the other day I got a trickle that had to be wiped up from the floor. Also, when you inject, the needle is in for longer and the capillaries have time to stop bleeding unless you hit a bigger blood vessel. Poke with the diabetes lancet and see what happens when you leave it in your leg for a full minute and then judge for comparison.

also, since lancets are designed to draw blood, they may not be as sharp as a hypodermic...

Stabbing yourself all across your leg trying to see where it won't bleed?

We got ourselves a smart one.

I rarely bleed. Only happens sometimes when I nick a vein on the way out.

Normally with comments like that I would shut them down, being as you are new and typically we don't like smartass responses, However I did like your logic. A lot of us spend a good deal of time going through threads and helping people, and sometimes we get a little off task. You asked a question and someone replied with "Oh we got a smart one" That is a good example of what I mean. But for future reference, Please be more polite. The mods around here will NOT hesitate to kick you out. Anyway, I have only bled bad once. i don't know why, but It squirt like 3 feet out. Besides that, they always dribble just a few blots, I swab it with alcohol then firmly press down with a cotton ball.

Ha I was just giving you a hard time man dont take it personal.

As for your original question, there has been atleast a droplet of blood everytime I injected. Its nothing to worry about. One time I pulled it out and blood literally covered my entire leg. Still nothing to worry about as long as you aspirate.

If it squirts far or in a pulse-like fashion, means you nabbed an artery.
