    PWO carbs/shake after cardio too?

Although this is a silly question I just wanted to confirm.

I always take my PWO shake/carbs/glucose/dextrose first thing after an intense workout.

Should the same be done after an intense cardio session in the morning too? Are glycogen levels depleted after cardio(only) as well?

This would equate to 2 daily insulin spikes. 1 in the morning after cardio and one in the afternoon straight after a gym workout.

And secondly, I usually put a spoon of glutamine powder in my PWO shakes, but I remember reading somewhere that this interferes with the absorbtion of protein? True/False. When would the best time to take 'stand alone' glutamine powder be?

    Thanks.

This is all a matter of opinion. Most guys don't even spike their insulin PWO. I use to but after much research i think its BS.

Couldn't someone say that that theory would mean insulin (synthetic/natural) has no use in bodybuilding?

    Where's the beef?

I have to agree, I've noticed close to no difference when taking dextrose in my PWO shake

    GI and Carb Cycling

After what's been said above, doesn't that also go to say that the glycemic index and carb cycling is also BS? Is it back to the drawing board where we used to see carbs as simply complex and simple carbs?

It seems that were going backwards again!

I believe in carb cycling just not spiking before/after you workout. Again, everyone is different it might work for you but not me. When i tried spiking off dex/malto i did notice a little bump (sugar rush) but no true gains. I really didn't like taking all that sugar in, just didn't seem right.
