    Guess my BF %

Just got my bf% done today at the gym with a set of manual calipers because I want to revamp my diet and make sure I am eating the proper calories If I remember correctly measurements were: Chest 8, Abdominals 17, and thighs 7.

    I was told that I am 9.8%. I thought I would be a little higher (14/15). I am 170 pounds.

Got back in the gym about a year ago. I wanted to bulk up back to 190, and then decided that I want to have abs for the first time in my life. Been doing a lean bulk for about 7 months. Slowly gaining muscle and shedding fat. I started at 170 and fluctuate between 170 to 173. I wish my weight would go up faster but it's hard when trying to lose fat also. I have seen a tremendous change in body composition, but I still miss being bigger with more body fat. I will try to find some before pics if I have some.

Should I have gained more weight in 7 months?

I think your bf is around 15%.

You are going the wrong way IMO. You should try to bulk clean and then cut after that. You haven't seen much change because when to try to cut and bulk at the same time you end up doing none.

Thanks guys, I thought what they gave me was a little low. Not sure if they were just trying to make me feel better or if it was a mistake in calculation.

Hugo, thanks for the feedback. I have seen major changes in my body composition, I just get a little disappointed that I am only 170, and that the weight I am lifting is not going up as fast as i hoped. I guess I should clarify that I am cutting. I am currently eating 200 calories less than maintenance. My goal is to see all of my abs. But I am also trying to lift heavier weights, hence I said lean bulk. Sorry for the confusion, I said that wrong. In the back of my mind, I just hope to get stronger (Can't help it, I like big lifts).

I am currently training 2 week rotations of 15 reps, 10 reps, then 8 (Except for legs, 30, 20, 10) Four days of weight training. Cardio 5 days a week.
