Glad to hear he survived and i hope they caught the bastards.
I did see a video once of a lady who had a knife in her head as well, and she was awake and talking with the knife in her head! She was at the hospital waiting for a special surgeon to come and take it out.

Yeah, it's amazing just what some people survive..... And it seems this guy was just trying to do the right thing
