Obesity is not a Disease! <- RANT.

Every day, im amazed by fat people. Amazed.

All i hear is that its so hard to lose weight, that its a disease and no one understands them properly. That its so hard to stop eating food and there is this overwhelming feeling that they must eat more.

Well, its bullshit. Its total crap, all of it, its not a ****ing disease you dickheads, its a simple maths equation, if you take in more calories than you burn, you'll put on weight, if you burn more calories than you take in then you lose weight.

    SIMPLE!

Now, the reason why im pissed off with stupid fat ****ing people constantly complaining, trying to get treatments, trying to start up charities and shit for these fat people is this...

Im joining the forces soon, and yes, like a lot of people have been carrying some excess weight (fat).

I wanted to tone down, lower my BMI and my BF %, and ended up losing 15.2lbs in 4 WEEKS. Simply by dieting, and cardio daily with the odd day off.

It just ****s me off when you see these people on these reality shows saying "awww i put on a pound this week, i just dont know what happened boo hoo" or "its just so difficult in todays world to lose weight".

So, to sum up, **** the people that say its too hard, just eat right, and work your ass off and you will achieve exactly what you want to.

Stupid fat ****s saying its a ****ing disease.

    Rant over.

I completely agree. Just like alcoholism is not a disease. You don't "catch" drunk or fat. Calling an addiction a "disease" removes responsibility from the addict.

Agreed with original post, it's disgusting and they're sad pathetic people. The ones that complain about it, that is. If you're stoked to be fat, then whatever.

maybe not disease in the sense you are thinking. Ill also give you that some obese might not have a physical condition, but do you really think these people want to look like that by choice? This is really dumb, let me lower your test and thyroid levels to baseline and see how well you 'bulk' up.

Definitionally(sp?) that may be debateable. However, things like hypothyroidism are in fact a disease. The thing is, you dont necessarily have to "have" a disease to be living in a "diseased state."

Personally, I dont view weight gain due to lifestyle choices and bad habits as a disease. More like a lack of decision making skills and choices which negatively impact a persons health and well being.

What really burns me up are these advocacies groups, who tout being fat as something that fat people should "embrace." Give me a break, let me give an analygous situation. Lets start groups for people with cancer, that tout it as a great thing, and encourage people NOT to seek treatment for it. Being overweight carries so many negative health risks to the individual (let alone the deleterious societal impacts) that no one in their right mind and with any credability as a healthcare professional, social scientist, or public health official would EVER endorse such a twisted ideology. Of course America is all about bad habits and excesses.

Hey I lost 11 lbs in one week.... woo hooo and I am a fatty..... used to be 247 and since feb of this year I have gone down to 298 current weight.....

I really dont agree with treatments and procedures like the famous bypass and lapband..... but hey if you dont have the will power to get your ass of your bed or couch and put down the damn 44oz diet coke after eating two double doubles and some large fries then be my guest and pay all that money for something that will cost you less.

Also a lot of thse people that will get these procedures dont get it in there head that its not dieting its meal planning... most of them think that you only have to eat a certain way until you shed all that weight then you are free to eat whatever you want.... what they have to do is get in their head that they have to change the way they eat for the rest of their lives..... I think its just a mental condition that you get in the habbit after a long time of doing it.

For me I have people telling that me they can see a big difference in the way I am loosing weight but when I see myself in the mirror i still see the same chubby guy that I was before at 347 so its the same thing with someone who finds comfort in food. You can not all of the sudden change someone's mentality and expect them to change their ways right away.

I personally am 100% against the bypass and the lapband. I think that is just for lazy ass people who dont want to get up there ass and drive to the gym and do cardio at least for 20 mins but they will get up and drive to a fast food place to get food....

i have a question, just posing it as a thought...

so if this isn't a disease, but something treatable... should we as the huddled "MASSES" ( i liked that) be responsible for education of these people? I mean, is it possible they are uneducated, unmotivated, and/or unaware of solutions? where do we draw the line and say, people need to help others out?

Ja, das ist ein groß kind!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOwPJeoRrRI

They are saying how she weighs 222kg and has a 10,000 Calorie dieting consisting of fast food and cola. 5 liter cola, 5 chocolates and Hamburgers. Uses the table to stand up then has to rest. The mother feeds her daughter chips and cola for breakfast...I could go on but I think that's enough.

This one went into more detail than the English video.

Prehaps obesity is a type of disease, hear me out.

I agree 100% with everyone that says it's an addiction, but at the root of all addiction lies depression, and depression is a disease of the mind.

The sad thing today though, is that we live in a world where people wont help themselves anymore and rely on everything and everyone around them.

Remember though, it is THEIR CHOICE to stuff their faces. It's gross and grim, but it's no ones right to tell them what they can or cant eat. The only time this isn't applicable is these parents that allow their kids to get obese, that's borderline child abuse.

I am glad everyone isn't as fit as me. If it was easy everyone would do it.

Fat people make me look good.

The fat people carts at WalMart drive me crazy though. Why would a corporation enable people to be fatter.

Not everyone here uses AAS religiously, some not at all. This board has more to offer than Anabolic advice.

i was waiting for a comment like this, and your right. This site is great for all aspects of training, exercise and everything around it. Would you not agree that the majority, if not all the people on this site want to look better, perform better and BE better?

So really we are all vain, and, according to ravanA, we are all about as pathetic as someone who cant get themselves off their ass and do something about their impending, self-inflicted doom

Not everyone here is like that, I know personally I have no desire to impress anyone through staying fit, I do it for my overall physical and mental health. I have no desire to be a bodybuilder or show on stage. I understand what you are saying but I personally do not fit in your assumption.

Being active and watching my diet makes me happy, when you really start to understand nutrition and the human body you find out just how much food out there is not essential to keep the human body healthy. In fact, I would say a good 85% is designed to hurt the body and make people sick.

I'm sick of fatties too, but it is taught as a disease process.

It depends on what people are using for the classification of disease. Psychological problems are disease processes and they don't have anything to do with bacteria or virii or whatever people associate with what a disease is. An addiction is considered a disease in the medical world therefore if you think obesity is an addiction then it would be a disease.

i'm sick of the ones that complain about it, but at the same time do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to try to help themselves. "oh i can't lose weight so i'll just eat all this food and bitch about it".

Dude there was a thread with a link here a while ago where this guy (maybe a blog) wrote the FUNNIEST shit I've ever heard about fat people. If anyone knows what I'm talking about please link it.
I was never able to find it again.

On this topic, this is prob wrong, but when I see fat people eating in places theres usually not food (like in class) I get really angry about it. Like I just wanna walk over and smack the shit out of them.
The thing the bothers me more than fat people, its proud fat people. They should keep that shit to bathrooms and confined places.

I wouldn't mind even seeing laws passed for it "if you are obese, you are not allowed to eat in public". I love it.

Good to know it bothers other people too.
To me its like watching a junkie shoot heroin, you wanna make them feel death than ask them if they still wanna kill themself. It prob bothers me though more than it should.
