What kind of coffee/beans do you get ?
I am looking for a really good coffee. I been getting these no name French vanilla beans and grinding them up and it taste OK. I wanted to see what you guys are using. I am looking for a med/light brew since i drink it black.

Kopi Luwak or Civet coffee is supposed to be the best. Luwak is the name of the animal that eats the raw red coffee beans. Then it digests the soft outer part of the coffee cherry, but does not digest the inner beans and excretes them. The local people collect the sh1t and take out the beans. It supposed to be the most expensive coffee in the world.

Serious coffee drinkers don't have a coffee preference.

I almost drank mud the other day because I needed a boost.

Now that I think about it, "Mud" really wouldn't be a bad name for a new brand of coffee at all.

Have a feeling we'll be seeing it in the next 5 or so years. drinking some quickcheck columbian right now..

As far as brands, Ancora Coffee is a great one...we sold it at my old cafe. It is around $30/lb. It's damn good.

But I'm also a coffee roaster at my cafe now, and as far as region, Tanzania coffee is great because it is contains peaberry beans, and Kenya AA is a good bean. Don't look for good coffee that is roasted in bulk like the brands you'd find at the store, go to different cafe's in the area and look for locally roasted stuff.

Also, I don't drink flavored coffees. If you knew about the chemicals used to flavor them, you wouldn't either. a label that says 'FLAMMABLE' takes up half the bottle and you're not supposed to get it on your hands, it's nasty. But to each his own

And remember, the darker the roast, the less caffeine it has

    one love

I start to rely on it too much and if I don't have it I don't shit. It also effects me for the entire day and not just the morning. I honestly love the taste of coffee, which is kinda like torture because I can't drink it at all. I would love to be able to drink it though.

Well I am going to suggest a Starbucks flavor since anyone can therefore try it.

'Mexican Organic'. It is rated a medium in boldness.

They say to grind it as you drink it because it is organic

Lastly, I suggest to NOT buy the flavored beans (hazelnut, french vanilla, etc.). They are taking that wonderful bean that has been through all those steps and then spraying it with an oil to give you that artificial flavor. To me, this taints the natural bean & probably distorts the quality to some degree. So keep your beans natural and if you need flavor, use the creams that are in the carton AFTER you brew that special bean.

Just a thought of freshness for you. Enjoy the 'Mexican Organic' if you try it.

We drink it black as well, no sweeteners, just black. I have tried many and for straight up black coffee I have to say Maxwell House Medium Roast is our favorite. It doesn't have that burnt taste that others have- yuck! I just picked up another huge can at BJ'S yesterday!

Dude, are you really gay? 'Cause a true gay man would KNOW his coffee just like he knows his Versace. j/k

Visit a roaster. Try a few of their custom blends/roasts and find one that suits you. It's not much more expensive than what you'd pay for a pound of Starbucks. I tend to favor Starbucks Shade Grown Mexican, but on Sunday mornings my wife and I freshly grind 100% Kona into a French press and enjoy Hawaii in a cup. It's the only sane thing in this God awful country.

Definitely not the marines? EVERY BRANCH HAS FLAMBOYANTS. I trained with the marines for 3 and a half months on a marine base, and there was this one personelman... I dunno what they call it in the marines, but he was a desk jockey... and boy was he a flamer. Corporal Russel... ill never forget him.
"Heeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Sailorssssss" in that feminine tone lmfao.

Dont get it twisted my friend, every branch has many gays, flamboyant or not.

I didnt say you were twisted... "dont get it twisted" is a common saying...

Well Ive done my time at Norfolk, MCAS Cherry Point, and other many other joint stations and i still deal with a fair share of marines at my current station. I work on the c130 (Marine dominant). But whats the difference anyways? just because ive seen more marine polesmokers than you have doesnt make you a less experienced service member lol.

I know its your beloved corps, you guys are all sensitive when someone says something less than honorable about it. But hey, no ones perfect.

I'm an 8 o'clock dude too. Arabica beans are tasty as hell. I need to start branching out though and trying some coffee house blends. I love coffee. I try to limit my daily consumption to 4 cups, but sometimes I just need my liquid crack.
