Thread: Children's vitamin?

    Children's vitamin?

I did a search to see which multi v/m you guys recommend using and came up with GNC's mega man as a good choice for myself.
My question would be for my 6 year old son. I guess I am hoping some of you have experience with this, as I know I am asking about children's nutrition in an adult forum.
My son is basically a carnivore. All he eats is meat. I have a hard time with him eating vegetables. He will eat fruits, but no bread (I guess that's not too bad), Pasta (I'm Italian... go figure), potatoes, rice, or basically anything but meat. lol
He nibbles on carrots and broccoli but it's work just getting him to do it. Do any of you recommend a certain children's vitamin for him? I am hoping as long as I keep making healthy food choices available for him he will eventually start eating them, but in the mean time I worry he is not getting everthing he needs.
    Thanks a bunch.

Just get those Kids Centrum Complete Multivitamin/Multimineral chewable tablets.

I use to get the flintstones ones lol

Look into NOW Green Phyto Foods tabs. I don't know about taking a full serving for a 6 year old, especially if he is also taking a kids multivitamin. Just something to look into.

cut up veggies so small and put them in the meal. He won't taste them. He'll probably notice them, but it would be way too hard to pick out each and every piece, therefore he would, hopefully eat it....or go to bed hungry.

I usually take a Spectravite...because that's what the doctors "prescribed" for me when I woke up from my coma. You don't need an ** for it...you can just get it at CVS. Supposedly it's pretty good. I was at a major trauma center with world renowned surgeons, so I'm thinking that it's ok for the average person, but probably not enough for a bodybuilder. But since I had a big bottle of it, I started taking one with every meal, so I'd take about 6-8 Spectravites per day.

But if you're going to rely on a kids vitamin, then I'd say take about 4 at at time, and take them several times per day. What you don't need, you'll just pee it out anyway. The gummy bear vitamins are good, and you can snack on them like candy...they're pretty harmless. I can eat nearly a whole jar in one sitting, so my mom stopped buying them, cuz I guess they'll rot your teeth.

I work at GNC, and the ones I'm familiar with are the flinstones, yummibears, multibite. Out of these the childrens multibite would be one I recommend.

    vs
    http://www.flintstonesvitamins.com/c...ml#ingredients

Multibite has more B-vitamins, A, C, Calcium, Magnesium, Copper, Manganese, also has bioflavonoids and inositol which flintstones don't.

It has less iron, phosphorus, iodine, choline, zinc.

Don't worry about the iron since you say you got carnivore of a kid he should be getting plenty if not excess.

Excellent! Thank you all for the help.

On a side note, big sexy: I made turkey meatloaf tonight with veggies chopped up small inside...... he refused to eat and chose to "go to bed hungry". I gave in and made him a peanut butter sandwich. He don't even like jelly. lol

I have a nephew who likes protein shakes. He sees me making a protein shake, and then he wants one. The only problem is, his mother is afraid there's other stuff in it, like creatine. I just use 100% whey, which they give to kids. I have 2 nephews & one is fed on a G tube...they feed him a liquid feed that has whey protein in it. And he's huge. He's just a huge 2 yr old. When he grabs your hand, you can't get him to let go. But for some reason, his mom doesn't want the non-G-tube kid to drink the protein shakes??? But I would say that you can also make your kid protein shakes, and you can throw in peanut butter in it too. I don't have any kids...but if I did, they would be little muscular monsters...like the little kid at the begining of "meet the spartans".
