Ibuprofen, Asprin, Tiger Balm; do they hinder gains or help recovery!?!?

I've read a few places now that taking NSAID pain-klillers such as Ibuprofen or Asprin can hinder gains/slow recovery of muscle tissue. Just wondering if there's actually any solid truth in this or if it's just rumours & hearsay. If anyone has any good studies to quote or links to post all the better.

Also wondering if Tiger Balm is any good for sore muscles following a workout, or whether that too should be avoided for any reasons?

    Ta!

Hmm where did you hear that? I would be pretty surprised if NSAID's did that considering thier effects. Most side effects are on your digestion system. Check out the Wiki for a basic overview. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-ste...lammatory_drug

Test have been ran about "do pain killers hault recovery" test showed that taking pain killers after a hard workout to get ride of the pain actually aulters the recovery time.

IMO i think that you will be allright taking 2 or so pills after workout if u really need to....taking a few is not goin to keep u from getting your 22inch pythons
