    Well its plasma thats forming in the microwave.
    People do it with grapes too.
    The gases escape and as they heat and supercharge by the microwaves it turns into plasma, the 4th state of matter.

    Youtube is infested with videos of people doing this, (some people shattering glasses when it forms) some cooler than others but I had no idea it actually makes plasma, which is crazy.
