    Angry Pain near bicep??

I've been having these sharp pains in my arm between my bic. and forearm for the past 3 weeks. Problem is i keep working out, ive been taking ibproferin for the pain and it's been helping alot. I haven't gone to see a doctor cause i'm an idiot who thinks the pain will just go away. Has anyone had this problem before.
It's stopping me from lifting heavy. Bottom line im just really annoyed with this problem! Thanks guys

Sounds like it could be tendonitis and it does not go away quickly. I have been battling it now for over a year. Have even went to a PT for ice and electrical treatment and still cant get ahead of it. Let me know if you find something that works other than rest.

I've just made a similar post and in a similar position, thought I could get through it and the pain will go away itself but its just getting worst.
Worst thing is I'm 1 week into my cycle

is it on the thumb side (lateral side) of your arm? Does it hurt if you were to extend your wrist back against resistance?

Mine was/is thumb side (anterior) and massage did nothing for it. Yes, wrist back against resistance aggravates it. Hope I am not hijacking his thread but feel we may have the same symptoms.

that pain in extension against resistance is a pretty good sign of lateral epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow)..I'm a little biast so I will of course tell you to see a chiro. You don't have to be reffered and your insurance will cover it. They can hook you up with a brace that helps a ton and they will be able to do things such as ultrasound to speed up the healing.

Thanks, I did do 6 weeks of ultrasound 3 days a week to no avail. Then again I was also lifting everyday as well.

The pain is on the inner part of my arm, right where it bends back and fourth. not the elbow side. I heard it could be golfers elbow to? It doesn't hurt when i try bending my wrist, only after and during my workouts. If you really think about it, you really use your bicep muscle for everything! I just might go see a doc. about it. no arm work outs for a while i guess.
It sucks because i've been training really hard lately.

well golfers elbow would be on the medial or inside of your elbow, while tennis elbow would be on the lateral or outter part of your elbow...thats the only difference...go see a doc bro, they may be able to help!

Fireguy, if you are gonna keep lifting you should get you one of the braces, they are tight and go around your upper forearm to help redistribute the load...it will help lots and allow the ultrasound and other modalities to work alot better if your going to be lifting...

So i found out i have tendanitus!! suxs.... He pretty much told me to take it easy for a while. If it gets worst they can shoot cortisone shots, but he really thinks i don't need it! So i guess that's good news lol. thanks guys

That's what golfers/tennis elbow is bro. Tendonitis. Please please PLEASE don't let them give you a SHOT for TENDONITIS. Completely unnecessary!!!

Straight from a research article double blind study..go see a chiro..

    3. Corticosteroid Injection (B): Use of injections for the treatment of LE is controversial. Virtually all authors state the risk/benefit aspect of this treatment must be considered. The American Family Physician (AFP) is concerned with spontaneous rupture of tendons while achieving improved short term results at best (27). A second review found superiority of injections only lasted six weeks (28). In a study comparing physiotherapy to injections, the injection group was significantly worse on all outcome measures at 52 weeks (29).
